Are We Free Yet?

Today, April 25th, Italy remembers liberation from fascism, 81 years ago.

This work is about freedom in the present: bodies dancing, animals, machines, electronic traces, strange rituals, and a techno-jungle energy where difference becomes movement.

AI is not automatically good or bad. Like every powerful tool, it depends on how we understand it, question it, and use it.

Maybe freedom today also means this: learning the language of the machines without becoming machines ourselves.

The last rite.

A fun, stylized clash. A kind of divertissement, but also a return to my roots.

Set in Sardinia, the Mediterranean island where I’m from, this piece reimagines two figures from its folklore: a man transforming into a Mamuthone robot, and an Accabadora robot. The Accabadora wins.

The Mamuthones are among the most iconic ritual figures of central Sardinia: dark wooden masks, sheepskins, heavy bells, ancient procession. In Sardinian tradition, the Accabadora is a figure linked to the idea of ending suffering and accompanying the dying at the final threshold.

Playful, excessive, and deliberately theatrical, this work still speaks about my land, its memory, and its folklore.
