"Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" was a 1985 video game developed by Brøderbund Software. It was designed to be an edutainment (an old term for educational game) that teaches geography and problem-solving skills to players. The objective of the game was to track down the mysterious globe-trotting thief, Carmen Sandiego.
The game was a huge success and led to the creation of several sequels, spin-offs, and even a TV game show in 1991. The game's success also led to the creation of an entire Carmen Sandiego media franchise and was also adapted into a Netflix animated series titled "Carmen Sandiego" in 2019.
Although MS-DOS games are no longer compatible with the current Windows operating system, they can still be played using MS-DOS emulators.
