Creative Play activity, where children use rubber making different shapes which is a great hands-on math and fine motor activity.

Today we explored shapes using a geoboard and colorful rubber bands. My son created squares and diagonal lines while strengthening hisfine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and finger muscles. This activity also encouraged problem-solving, spatial awareness, creativity, and early geometry concepts such as sides, corners, and diagonals. It was a fun, engaging way to build concentration and confidence through hands-on learning.

Skills Developed:

* Fine motor skills
* Hand-eye coordination
* Shape recognition
* Early math and geometry
* Spatial awareness
* Problem-solving
* Creativity and concentration

This is an excellent preschool STEM activity that combines learning with play.

Some places leave you speechless, and Vestrahorn is one of them. The towering mountains, volcanic black sand, and peaceful surroundings create a landscape unlike anywhere else on Earth. Every step felt like walking through a postcard. 🌍🏔️

Standing there, surrounded by such incredible beauty, I felt a deep sense of peace and gratitude. It reminded me how vast and beautiful our world is, and how important it is to pause, breathe, and appreciate moments like these. This wasn’t just another destination—it was an experience that touched my heart and will stay with me forever. Iceland, you’ve given me memories I’ll cherish for a lifetime. ❤️🇮🇸

Learning Through Play with Magnetic Tiles 🌈🧲✨

One of our favorite learning toys at home is magnetic tiles. They are so much more than just colorful building blocks—they inspire creativity, imagination, and hands-on learning every single day.

Today we explored building alphabet letters, but magnetic tiles can become almost anything a child can imagine.
As children build, they naturally develop so many important skills:

✨ Creativity and imagination
✨ Problem-solving and critical thinking
✨ Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
✨ Spatial awareness and early engineering concepts
✨ Shape and color recognition
✨ Letter and number recognition
✨ Concentration and patience
✨ Confidence through independent play
✨ Language development while talking about their creations
✨ Teamwork and social skills when building together

There is no “right” or “wrong” way to play. Every design is unique, and every creation tells a story. Watching little minds transform simple magnetic tiles into letters, buildings, animals, and imaginative worlds is truly amazing.

Learning doesn’t always happen with worksheets—it happens through play, exploration, curiosity, and creativity. ❤️

Learning through play! 🌈🔢
Count • Match • Pick • Learn!

A colorful counting activity that keeps little hands busy while building essential preschool skills. Every pom-pom placed is another step toward stronger math and fine motor development.

Today we practiced:
✨ Number recognition
✨ Counting 1–10
✨ One-to-one correspondence
✨ Color matching
✨ Fine motor skills
✨ Hand-eye coordination
✨ Concentration

Learning is always more fun when it’s hands-on!

This is a wonderful practical life + fine motor activity for a 3–4-year-old! Here’s why:

What my child is doing

My child is:

* Squeezing a sponge to transfer water into the green bin.
* Using both hands to stabilize and squeeze, which is great for developing strength.
* Working with a simple water-transfer setup using bins and cups.

Skills this activity builds

* ✅ Hand strength (important for future pencil grip)
* ✅ Finger and thumb muscles
* ✅ Bilateral coordination (using both hands together)
* ✅ Wrist stability
* ✅ Concentration and patience
* ✅ Eye-hand coordination
* ✅ Understanding of cause and effect
* ✅ Sensory exploration

Since my kid is 3 years old and is still developing his pencil grip, this is an excellent activity because squeezing sponges is one of the best ways to strengthen the small muscles needed for writing.

Ways to make it a little more challenging

As your kid becomes comfortable, you can try:

* Transfer water from the green tub to the red tub using only the sponge.
* Fill the three cups to the same level.
* Count squeezes: “Let’s squeeze 10 times!”
* Add a few drops of food coloring.
* Hide plastic letters or numbers in the water.
* Use a turkey baster or large eye dropper next time for even more finger strength.

Safety:

Supervise throughout the activity!!! 😊

Trying Burmese cuisine in San Jose! 🇲🇲🍽️

The restaurant itself has a clean, cozy, and modern atmosphere with tasteful décor that creates a warm and welcoming dining experience. Whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet meal, it’s a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy authentic Burmese-inspired food.

The Tea Leaf Salad was definitely the highlight of our meal—fresh, flavorful, and full of great texture. 🥗 The Basil Chicken was another favorite, with a nice balance of savory flavors.

The best of all was the The Beef dishes!!! The Mango Chicken, Fried Rice were decent, but they didn’t quite stand out or match our expectations. Still, the restaurant offers a cozy, clean, and welcoming atmosphere with beautiful décor that makes for a pleasant dining experience.

Overall, I’d come back for the Tea Leaf Salad and Basil Chicken, and I’d love to try some of their other dishes next time!

Standing before Gullfoss was a reminder of nature’s raw power and beauty. One of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls, Gullfoss plunges into a dramatic canyon, sending mist into the air and creating a scene that feels almost unreal. Located along the famous Golden Circle route near Þingvellir National Park, it’s a place where Iceland’s wild landscapes truly come to life. 🇮🇸
