⁨ مشاركة فريق إيبارو
في تنظيم فعالية يوم الشباب والسلام الذي اقيم في باحة بيت قنطرة و الذي نفذه مركز أنطونيو بابيسكا لحقوق الإنسان - جامعة بادوا ومنظمة جسر إلى - UPP الإيطالية و بالتعاون مع مؤسسات ومجموعات محلية عاملة في مجال الثقافة والفن و عن قرار الأمم المتحدة رقم ٢٢٥٠ حول الشباب والسلام والأمن.
ادى فريق إيبارو مهامه في تنظيم عملية الدخول للاحتفال و تنظيم عملية الجلوس و تنفيذ الاعمال اللوجستية الخاصة بالفعاليات.

Ebaru team
took part in organising the Youth and Peace day event, held in Qantara’s courtyard and implemented by the Antonio Papisca Human Rights Centre - University of Padua and the Italian organisation Un Ponte Per (UPP), in cooperation with local institutions and groups active in the field of culture and art, and in the reference to UN Security Council resolution No.2250 on Youth, Peace and Security.
Ebaru team was responsible for managing the entry process, seating arrangements, and carrying out the logistics tasks related to the event activities. ⁩

⁨ فريق “ مختبر إيبارو “
يلتقي بمجموعة من خبراء التراث والثقافة والسائحين الذين زاروا مقر “ مؤسسة قنطرة الثقافية “، و دارت الاحاديث حول ثقافة البصرة و انماط مجتمعاتها وخاصة من الشباب. و قد عبر السائحون عن اعجابهم بمستوى اللغة الانكليزية لفريق إيبارو وثقافتهم الغنية والمتنوعة.

team met with a group of heritage and culture experts and tourists who visited
the “ Qantara Cultural Foundation “

The conversations focused and revolved around Basra’s culture and the unique characteristics of its communities, particularly those of its youth.

The visitors expressed their admiration for the Ebaru team’s impressive English proficiency and their diverse, richly layered cultural background. ⁩

⁨ "من أحلامٍ لأفلامٍ: الصور النمطية للعراق في سينما الغرب ودور المترجمين العراقيين"

تناولت الجلسة النقاشية الثانية لمختبر إيبارو موضوع السينما في العراق ودور المترجم العراقي في نقل الثقافة العراقية والمساهمة في اعادة تشكيل الصور النمطية التي حُفرت في عقول العالم وسينما الغرب خاصة. وقام فريق سيموسك بعرض تاريخ السينما في العراق وكيف صور العراق على مر التاريخ في شركات الأنتاج الغربية. وتبادلنا وجهات النظر المختلفة والآراء في هذا السياق.

واستضاف مختبر إيبارو الأستاذ محمد صباح مؤسس نادي السينما (‪.cinemaclub‬ ) وتحاورنا لتحديد مشاكل السينما في العراق وإيجاد الحلول لها.

From Dreams to Scenes : Iraqi Stereotypes in Western Cinema & the Role of Iraqi Translators

Ebaru’s second discussion session covered the topic of cinema in Iraq, the role of translators\interpreters in transmitting the Iraqi culture, and reshaping the stereotypical image that is so engrained in the whole world, especially in the western cinema. Additionally, Cimusic team presented the history of cinema in Iraq and how Iraq was historically portrayed by Western film production agencies; we discussed the different views within and around this topic.

Ebaru Lab also hosted Mr. Mohammed Sabah, founder of Cinema Club‪.cinemaclub‬ub ), to discuss and outline the issues of cinema in Iraq, in an effort to come up with solutions.

جلستنا الاولى في إيبارو التي ناقشنا فيها كيف يمكن للترجمة أن تؤثر في تشكيل الصور النمطية عن العراق في الإعلام الغربي، وكيف يمكننا كمترجمين أن نكون جزءًا من هذا التغيير. كما استعرضنا قصصًا واقعية لمترجمين نجحوا في تغيير تلك التصورات، وتبادلنا وجهات النظر حول تنوع الآراء في هذا السياق.

We're thrilled to share a part of our first Ebaru's session with you!

The session was centred around the topic:

"How Iraq is Viewed Across Western Cultural and Multimedia Platforms, and the Role of Translation, Past and Present"

We explored how translation plays a role in shaping Western stereotypes of Iraq and how, as translators and interpreters, we can contribute to changing these narratives. We also shared real-life stories of interpreters who successfully challenged these perceptions and engaged in a discussion on the diversity of opinions surrounding this topic.
