In these lines from our National Song, poet Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay pays homage to Mother India. He does not view the Motherland as a mere piece of land, but establishes her as the personification of the Supreme Divine Power (Para Shakti). The poet envisions the sacred forms of three goddesses within his Motherland—she is Goddess Durga, bearing ten weapons to protect the nation; Goddess Lakshmi, bringing wealth, grain, and prosperity; and Goddess Saraswati, spreading the light of wisdom. The poet conveys that our Motherland is a divine union of power, prosperity, and knowledge. Blessed with abundant waters, rich with fruitful yields, eternally pure, and matchless, Bharat Mata is worthy of our highest reverence🪷🇮🇳

Maa Meenakshi is the supreme manifestation of Aadyashakti Jagdamba and the presiding deity (Adhishtatri) of Madurai. The name 'Meenakshi' signifies her divine fish-shaped eyes, continuously flowing with infinite maternal love and grace. As Mool Prakriti (the primordial force of nature), she took birth as a princess in the royal Pandya Dynasty—celebrated for both her exceptional beauty and matchless valour. She wed Lord Shiva in his form as Sundareshwar to govern the cosmic order as the queen of Madurai.
Her green complexion holds deep sacred meaning: as Goddess Parvati applies divine turmeric pastes over her dark (Shyamala) form, her body radiates with an emerald green glow, signifying her role as Nature itself. Revered also as a potent Shaktipeeth where her jaw and ornaments fell, she is worshipped here as Shakti Meenakshi (Mantranayaki) alongside Sundareshwar (Tanduk) as her Bhairava. Holding a lotus topped with a divine parrot, this artwork captures her dual essence as a majestic ruler and the compassionate divine mother.

Devi Meenakshi is the supreme manifestation of Aadyashakti Jagdamba and the presiding deity (Adhishtatri) of Madurai. The name 'Meenakshi' denotes her exquisite, fish-shaped eyes, from which an unending stream of motherly love, warmth, and grace flows continuously. As Mool Prakriti—the primordial force of creation and the nurturer of the universe—she took birth as a princess in the royal Pandya Dynasty of Madurai. Renowned for her radiant beauty and matchless valour, she ruled as a heroic warrior before uniting in sacred matrimony with Lord Shiva in his divine form as Sundareshwar, together guiding the cosmic order.
Her iconic green complexion reflects her identity as the raw essence of Nature itself. Sacred traditions reveal that when Goddess Parvati applies divine turmeric pastes and herbs over her dark-complexioned (Shyamala) form, her body illuminates with a mesmerizing emerald-green radiance. Furthermore, under the Shakta tradition, the sacred Madurai temple stands as a potent Shaktipeeth—the hallowed ground where the Goddess's upper jaw and divine ornaments fell, where she is revered as Shakti Meenakshi (Mantranayaki) alongside Lord Sundareshwar (Tanduk) as her Bhairava. As an artist, you dream of appreciation, but I never imagined a painting created by these hands would become a medium of someone’s devotion. Seeing a devotee place my Maa Lalita artwork in their sacred space and perform puja left me in tears of gratitude🥹🥹

Maa Lalita Tripura Sundari 🌺
The primordial Adi Parashakti and the personification of Parabrahman, is the ultimate source and the cosmic mother of all creation. She is the origin of every element in the universe; by her divine grace, everything sets into motion, and ultimately, everything dissolves back into her infinite being. Transcending all dualities of form, attributes, and gender, the entire cosmos is but a play of her mystical energy, Mahamaya. As the highest among the Dasa Mahavidyas, the presiding deity of Sri Vidya, and the resplendent 'Shiva-Shaktyekarūpiṇī', Empress Rajarajeshwari resides in absolute bliss alongside Kameshwar Shiva within the Chintamani Griha at the sacred center of the Sri Chakra in the celestial realm of 'Manidvipa'. Her divine form is incomparably magnificent, radiant with the crimson brilliance of millions of rising suns, while her benign countenance beams with cosmic compassion and supreme bliss. The pinnacle of her iconography is the 'Pancha-Brahmasana', where Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra, and Ishwara form the four pillars of her royal throne, and Sadashiva serves as the plank upon which she sits in her supreme majesty—symbolizing her absolute sovereignty, for it is only through her grace that Brahma attains the power to create, Vishnu to preserve, and Rudra to dissolve. Depicted with four arms, she holds deeply symbolic weapons entirely under her cosmic control: the Ikshu Dhanush (sugarcane bow) representing the mind, the Pancha Bana (five flower arrows of Lotus, Blue Lotus, Mango Blossom, Ashoka, and Navamallika) representing the five senses of perception, the Pasha (noose) symbolizing attachment, and the Ankusha (goad) signifying restraint over anger. She alone births this creation, orchestrates its sustenance, and eventually absorbs it back into her eternal awareness; the profound glory of this Supreme Mother is majorly chronicled in the Brahmanda Purana (Lalita Upakhyan), Devi Bhagavata Purana, and Shiva Purana.

This divine artwork is dedicated to Adi Shakti Mahamaya Maa Kamakhya. In this painting, the complete form of the Mother has been depicted in a purely symbolic expression.
​The sacred journey of this painting begins at the very foundation with the Singh (Lion), who represents Lord Vishnu. Resting directly upon this divine lion is Lord Shiva, masterfully represented through the symbols of the Damru and Trishul. Rising vertically from this pillar of consciousness, a magnificent Lotus blooms from the peak of the Trishul, symbolizing Lord Brahma, the creator. This entire structure visualizes the profound scriptural truth where Lord Narayana forms the vehicle, Lord Shiva rests above him, and from Shiva's navel emerges the holy lotus that serves as the literal throne upon which Mahamaya Herself resides.
​Ascending beyond this physical throne, the artwork enters the subtle, metaphysical realm. Right above the lotus, a red Triangle with a central Bindu (dot) represents the core center of the Sri Chakra, which is the primordial abode of Adi Parashakti, where Maa Kamakhya is enshrined in the form of the Yoni Mudra. Enclosing this entire divine energy and celestial throne is a radiant Golden Chakra (halo), within which the Jeeva or Jivatma (individual soul) continuously revolves as a subtle spark of light. This perpetual cyclical movement certifies the eternal truth that the entire lifecycle of the universe originates from the Mother, revolves around Her energy, and ultimately dissolves back into Her. This continuous process reflects taking birth from the Mother, wandering through the world of Maya created by Her, and finally merging back into Her. It is this very celebration of the divine motherhood of Mahamaya Jagatjanani that is honored as the Ambubachi festival
