From India of the 29 listings, amongst others, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai and the Mountain Railways of India, have made it to the list thanks to the efforts of the local authorities. But Banaras, considered one of the ol

Banaras Ghats have been in a continuous process of deterioration and a lot of its millenia old heritage is getting lost to our recklessness. Getting the UNESCO World Heritage Listing, will not only give them a new lease of life, but also be able preserve these ancient, legendary ghats for the coming generations, and save them from becoming a stack of falling cards in our lives!
