I went to Goa this time to explore work opportunities, but somehow, it turned into so much more than just a work trip.
My friend J and I were colleagues at a job in Surat. When I joined, he was already serving his notice period, so we worked together for barely five days. But somehow, those five days were enough for us to build such a good bond that the friendship stayed even after he left.
He’s originally from Assam, and later, we travelled all the way there for his wedding. After that, he moved to Goa, and I visited him there once before.
This time, I was going back to stay with them again, but with a little more purpose. I wanted to explore Goa for work opportunities and see what life and work there could look like.
J Jimon hosted me at their home for around 15–20 days, and I honestly had the best time. My friend is a photographer too, so I would often tag along on his shoots. Working alongside him was genuinely so much fun. I also got to work with pohar , he’s a video editor, working with him was equally fun.
Their home is in a small village near Mapusa, away from the usual Goa madness. It was quiet, peaceful, and honestly, one of my favourite parts of the trip. It felt like a completely different side of Goa, the kind of place where you could just slow down.
And whenever I wasn’t working with them, I explored Goa on my own. I rented a scooty and would leave in the morning, meet people, look for work opportunities, explore different places, take photographs, and just ride around without much of a plan.
So these photos and videos are a little glimpse of those days, some from the work we did together, some from the places I explored, and some from the random moments in between.
