Local Bharatanatyam Student to Represent St. Maarten in Regional Dance Competition
St. Maarten – Zara Budhrani ,a young Bharatanatyam dancer from St. Maarten will be showcasing her talent on an international stage as she travels to a neighboring country Guadeloupe on November 16th, to compete in a prestigious dance competition organized by the organization GOPIO Guadeloupe. Zara, who has been training under Naatya Arts Center, St.Maarten from the past 10 years ,has dedicated to mastering this ancient South Indian classical dance form, has been selected to represent the island and demonstrate the grace, rhythm, and storytelling that make Bharatanatyam unique.
The competition will bring together dancers from across the region, offering participants a valuable opportunity to share and celebrate their cultural heritage while honing their skills through friendly competition. With months of intensive practice, Zara is ready to captivate the audience and judges with her expressive movements and intricate footwork.
