I'M ATHIRA DEV

Visual Artist & Designer

At 29 years old, I have been pursuing my passion for art for 2 years. I work from my cozy home studio based out of Manipal, India. I use my creativity to explore themes of beauty, freedom, and self-love. My art is inspired by nature and emotions, and I aim to spread these through each piece I create. Whether using digital or traditional techniques, I put m

y heart into designing, painting, and crafting every product with love and care, a reflection of my passion and dedication to my craft. My Journey
I have been passionate about art since a young age and use it as a means to express myself and my emotions. In 2011, I joined the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Bangalore to study Fashion Knitwear Design. I graduated as the Best Performing Student in 2015 and was awarded the Best Design Collection. After a year of work, I pursued my MA in Design Futures from Nottingham Trent University in the UK and then worked as a Graphic and Apparel Designer in India. The pandemic in 2020 brought about a change in my career path. Why I Do, What I Do
In 2020, as the world locked down, I rediscovered my love for art. I found solace in painting and creating, and it slowly became a way of life for me. Through this, I realized that a corporate job wasn't fulfilling my desire for a creative life filled with joy and self-expression. So, in December 2020, I left my job and became a freelance artist. I've always wanted to start my own venture and finally found my way with my art. My love for art has turned into products I'd love to use and thus my website was launched on 29th May 2021. I've taken my first step towards realizing my dream and have not looked back since. I'm eager to see where it leads and during this journey would love to share a part of me with everyone I meet along the way.

Would you love something like this in your home? ✨

I’ve always loved the spiritual symbolism of the seven horses painting. It’s such a familiar theme in many of our homes, 7 horses running on water, full of strength and movement 🐎

Even though it’s a very classic subject, I really enjoy creating my own contemporary versions of it. It gives me the freedom to experiment with textures, details, and different elements while still holding on to the essence of the theme.

My client loved a previous seven horses piece I had created, and I’m so glad I could create something that beautifully complements their home as well 🥰

Looking back at November with a full heart 💙
Creators Jam with Samsung took me to Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad & Chennai four cities, four workshops, each with its own vibe 🤩
Meeting art enthusiasts who are so curious, open, and genuinely excited to learn was honestly my favourite part 😍😍
So grateful for this opportunity to travel, explore different cities, and connect with so many creative minds along the way 🩷
Every city felt different, but the love for art felt the same everywhere ✨

“Bazaar“
A commissioned piece that holds the bustling soul of India, its noise, colours, chaos, and charm.
My client, who now lives in the US, wanted something that captures the everyday energy and beauty of an Indian street market. So I poured all the sounds, smells, and stories of a typical bazaar into this canvas.
It’s not just a painting, it’s a memory of home, of movement, of moments that feel like India. 🇮🇳✨

Can you feel the Bazaar ? 😍

A painting that carries both healing and celebration, the memory of a beloved pet who has crossed the rainbow bridge ( the indie ) , and the unbreakable bond between the two who continue to bring joy and love every day ( the beagle and the Jack Russel Terrier) . ‘Three Musketeers’ is a tribute to the past and a celebration of the present, forever cherished in one heartfelt frame 🥹🫶🏻
