*Traditional Soof Hand Embroidery Cushion Cover*
Bring the quiet art of Tharad (Shivnagar) into your home.
*The Craft*
Soof embroidery is a thread-counting art from the Meghwal artisans of Tharad (Shivnagar), Gujarat. No sketches, no tracing. Each geometric pattern is built stitch by stitch from the back of the fabric, so the front comes out perfectly clean, symmetrical, and "soof" which means flawless.
*The Cushion Cover*
- *Fabric*: Durable cotton or cotton-silk base that feels soft but holds its shape on your sofa or bed. Usually available in 16x16" or 18x18" sizes.
- *Embroidery*: Bold Soof work on the front panel with traditional Parkari motifs like chowk, stars, diamonds, and zigzags. Common colors are deep maroon, indigo, rust, mustard, and ivory on a natural or dark base so the patterns stand out.
- *Back*: Plain cotton with a neat envelope or zip closure for easy insert and wash.
- *Finishing*: Clean piped edges. Some designs come with small hand-twisted tassels or mirror accents on the corners for that elegant heritage touch.
*The Feel*
It’s heritage you can live with. The embroidery adds texture and color to neutral sofas, and the geometric patterns work just as well in a modern living room as in a traditional one. Each cover is handmade, so the stitch spacing and motifs will have tiny variations that make it one of a kind.
*Perfect for*:
Living room decor, festive gifting, guest rooms, or mixing with other handcraft textiles for a layered, earthy look.
*Care*: Spot clean or dry clean to keep the threadwork bright.
