*Mumbai tourist dies after sudden collapse in Sonamarg*

Ganderbal, Jan 3, KNT: A tourist from Mumbai died after suddenly collapsing during a sightseeing trip in Sonamarg, officials said on Saturday.

Sources told Kashmir News Trust that the deceased has been identified as Muhammad Raees Siddiqui, aged 57, son of Muhammad Sharif, a resident of Mumbai.

He had arrived in Sonamarg along with his family for leisure and sightseeing.

Officials said that during the visit, Siddiqui suddenly collapsed inside his vehicle.

He was immediately rushed to the Primary Health Centre Sonamarg for medical assistance. However, doctors at the facility declared him brought dead.

The incident turned what was meant to be a family vacation into a moment of grief and mourning.

Family members were left in shock following the sudden tragedy.

Further proceedings are being carried out as per established protocol, officials added. [KNT]

*Two Minors Killed, Another Injured in Tractor Accident in Karnah*

Kupwara, Dec 30 : Two minor children were killed and another was injured after a tractor struck them at Taad village in the Karnah area of Kupwara district on Tuesday.

Officials told GNS that the incident involved a tractor bearing registration number JK09B 4871. "The vehicle was being driven by a local resident," they said.

"Residents present at the spot rushed the injured children to Sub District Hospital Tangdhar, where the authorities declared two children dead on arrival," they said adding a third child was admitted for treatment and is stated to be in a critical condition.

The deceased were identified as Arzoo Bashir, aged about seven years, and Azan Sajad Qureshi, aged about eight years. Both were residents of Taad village. The injured child was identified as Shahnaz Ahmad Mughal, aged about nine years, also a resident of the same village.

"Police reached the scene soon after receiving information and initiated legal proceedings and further investigation is underway to establish the circumstances leading to the accident," officials added۔

*TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU/SRINAGAR*

*TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 13-10-2025:-*

*NH-44 (NHW)*
Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) *has NOT been fully restored* at Tharad, Udhampur.

There was *very slow movement* observed on NH-44 due to single lane traffic at Tharad, Balinalla, Dewal, breakdown of *04 HMVs* and movement of *17* nomadic flocks on NH-44.

*Goods carrier (HMV/LMV) Operators carrying fresh perishable/live stock* are advised to load their vehicle as per advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters time to time as there is single lane traffic and poor condition of road at *Tharad (Udhampur), Balinalla, Dewal, at Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather, also heavy movement of nomadic flocks on NH-44* .

Commuters are advised to *follow lane discipline; overtaking, wrong lane driving will cause congestion* . *Avoid travel on NH-44, if not necessary* , in view of heavy movement of nomadic herds.

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, *tomorrow only one way traffic for LMVs shall be permitted from Jammu towards Srinagar on NH-44.*

These vehicles shall be allowed *from Nagrota (Jammu) between 0700 hrs to 1100 hrs*

*No LMV* shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu on NH-44.

*LMVs* going towards *Distt. Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban* *from Jammu* shall be allowed *from Nagrota (Jammu) between 0700 hrs 1100 hrs.* However, *LMVs* coming from *Distt. Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban* towards Jammu will be permitted to move but these vehicles must cross the *Nashri Tunnel before 1000 hrs.*

*Mughal road is open* for LMVs from Srinagar towards Jammu and vice versa.

*HMVs/Load Carriers:-*
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, HMVs shall be allowed *from Jammu towards Srinagar*. These vehicles shall be regulated *from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44* . TCU Udhampur shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding the movement of HMVs.

*SFs Convoy Movement:-*
Security Forces are advised/requested *not to ply against advisory* /traffic plan in view of possible traffic congestion because of *narrow carriage way between Tharad and Balinallah/Marog and Kishtwar Pathar* on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Tomorrow they may ply from *Jammu towards Srinagar* after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

*Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244:-*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from NHIDCL, only *LMVs shall be allowed from both sides* viz from Anantnag towards Kishtwar and vice- versa on Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road. These vehicles shall be allowed *from PP Parana towards Anantnag from 0800 hrs to 1500 hrs and from PP Daksum towards Kishtwar from 0900 hrs. to 1500 hrs.* as per order issued by SDM Chhatroo vide No. SDM/C/2025-26/530-37 dated 15-09-2025 and SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/KNG/665-71 dated 16-05-2025.

*SSG ROAD*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, (after getting green signal from the BRO) traffic movement shall be allowed on regulated manner on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road. LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed *from Minamarg towards Srinagar at 0500 hrs. to 1000 hrs.* Similarly, *LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil at 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs* . *No* vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.
SFs Convoy, plying from Srinagar to Kargil and vice versa shall plan their movement in such a manner so that Civil Traffic (both UP and DOWN) don't get disturbed.

*Mughal Road:-*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from Road maintenance agencies (GREF). *LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa via Poonch*. These vehicles shall be allowed *from Behramgala (Baffliaz) between 0600 hrs. to 1730 hrs and from Herpora (shopian) between 0600 hrs and 1700 hrs* as per advisory issued by District Magistrate Poonch vide No. DMP/J/9291-9318 dated 31-08-2025. *However, *HMVs carrying fresh fruits six tyres only shall be allowed from Shopian towards Poonch*. No HMV will be allowed from Jammu towards Mughal road . TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the traffic advisory and cut off timings.

*CUT OFF TIMINGS FOR LMVs/PASSENGER/PRIVATE CARs GOING TOWARDS JAMMU VIA MUGHAL ROAD-*
TRC Srinagar 1330 hrs
Nowgam Peaks 1400 hrs
Pantha Chowk 1400 hrs
Chandhara Pampore 1500 hrs
Galandar via Kakapora 1500 hrs
Marvel Crossing 1500 hrs
Kandizal (Peaks NH-44) 1500 hrs
