Bengaluru engineer Gaurav Sen has developed an AI-powered system designed to do exactly that. The setup uses a dashcam, GPS and an accelerometer to capture road conditions while driving. AI vision models then identify potholes, classify their size and record their precise location.
The system goes a step further by checking around 2,900 government road contracts to connect a damaged road stretch with the relevant tender and contractor. It can reportedly generate a structured complaint containing the pothole photo, location, tender information and responsible officer in about four seconds.
During one commute, the system reportedly detected 12 potholes and produced 12 complaint-ready records.

This man, Epimaco Amancio, planted a pine tree in Dalaguete, Cebu, Philippines, decades before it unexpectedly became a lifesaver. On August 10, 2010, a bus carrying 37 passengers, mostly students, reportedly lost control near a steep cliff in Barangay Obo.
The bus came dangerously close to plunging into a deep ravine, but the pine tree planted by Amancio helped stop it from falling farther. All the passengers reportedly survived.
