Story Behind the Statue of Ane Donyi & Abo Tani :-
The legend has it that foremost father of Tani tribes, Abo Tani married the prettiest princess Ane Donyi (Bwjine) by dint of his wit and trickery. The marriage brought prosperity for the family. However, with passage of time, as his neglectful nature would have its way, Abo Tani continued to do things opposite of Ane Donyiโs advices. The marital relationship got stranged as a result of Abo Taniโs obstinacy and blunders. Ane Donyi always forgive him. One day, Abo Tani chose the forbidden path- Myorile-enroute to Dote Pabya, the place where Ane Donyiโs sister Kartene lived, to bring a babysitter for their two children Byamchiri & Byacharo. For Abo Tani disturbed the silence of the Myorile path, he lost all his precious ornaments, dao and clothing. He returned as a docile dog. This enraged Ane Donyi. Then she decided to leave Abo Tani for forever. But Abo Tani begged her to forgive him. She relented under one conditionโ that she would purify him with the magical dews of prosperity and he shouldnโt react with shock. A splash of dew on his body, Abo Tani reacted with a shriek. Another chance, he shrieked again. At this point, Ane Donyi rose for the abode only to be grabbed by Abo Tani by her legs. Then she gave him one final chance, but Abo Tani failed again. Before leaving for the abode, Ane Donyi turned back to promise him- โWhenever you and your progenies remember me for blessings with rituals, I will come back to bestow my blessings.โ Thus Ane Donyi left him for forever. This promise of Ane Donyi become the genesis of all Yullos by Abo Tani tribes, including Nyokum/Myokam Yullo. The statues made of thermocol foams depict the last minute of the parting.
