शिव विवाह की कथा का श्रवण करने वाला साक्षात् शिव पद का अनुरागी होगा : डॉ रमनीक कृष्ण जी महाराज

चण्डीगढ़ : पुरुषोत्तम मास के पावन अवसर पर श्रीसत्यनारायण मंदिर परिसर सेक्टर 22 में आयोजित शिवमहापुराण कथा के चतुर्थ दिवस में सद्भावना दूत पूराणाचार्य स्वामी डॉ रमनीक कृष्ण जी महाराज ने भगवान शिव एवं मां पार्वती के विवाह की मंगलमय कथा का वर्णन करते हुए कहा कि पर्वत राज हिमालय और मैना की पुत्री माता पार्वती ने शिव को प्राप्त करने के लिए तपस्वियों की भांति कठोर तप किया। माता-पिता के मना करने पर भी दृढ़ संकल्प कर चुकी पार्वती ने किसी की बात ना मानी और शंकर को प्राप्त करने के लिए तप किया। कई वर्षों तक बिना कुछ खाए साधना करने के कारण शरीर तिनके के समान हो गया इसलिए मां भगवती अपर्णा कहलाई। सप्तऋषियों ने शिव की आज्ञा से देवी की परीक्षा ली विष्णु को गुणों की खान बनाया ओर कहा शिव तो श्मशानों के वासी हैं। परन्तु देवी ने कहा मेरे स्वामी शिव ही हैं। सप्तऋषियों ने प्रसन्न होकर वरदान दिया। भोले नाथ की बारात सजी। देवता, किन्नर, गंधर्व, नाग सभी भगवान की बारात में चले, मैना मैया शिव के स्वरूप को देखकर घबराई। मै अपनी कन्या को लेकर पर्वत से कूद जाऊंगी पर शिव के संग नहीं ब्याहुंगी। नारद जी ने सप्तऋषियों के साथ आकर सारे विषाद को समाप्त किया और पार्वती के पिछले जन्म की कथा सुनाई। मैना मैया प्रसन्न हुई। विवाह की वेदी सजी। ब्रह्मा जी ने लग्न पत्रिका पड़ी। शिव विवाह में सर्वप्रथम गणपति पूजन हुआ। इसमें कैसे आश्चर्य की बात है क्योंकि गणपति तो अनादि देव हैं। मैया मैना ने मां पार्वती को गृहस्थ जीवन की शिक्षा दी। देवताओं ने पुष्प वृष्टि की। सारा जगत धन्य-धन्य हो गया। इस सुंदर शिव विवाह की कथा का श्रवण करने वाला साक्षात् शिव पद का अनुरागी होगा। आज कथा में विशेष रूप से भाजपा के वरिष्ठ नेता संजय टंडन सह प्रभारी हिमाचल प्रदेश ने व्यासपीठ का पूजन कर आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया। इस अवसर पर मंदिर सभा से पैटर्न राकेश कुमार गर्ग, पैटर्न दुलीचंद ,चेयरमैन जय भगवान गर्ग, अध्यक्ष राजकुमार सिंगला, सुरेंद्र नायाब, राजवीर गर्ग, फकीर चंद, दीपक मित्तल, रोशन लाल, श्यामलाल बंसल के साथ-साथ मूर्ति बंसल अपनी पूरी महिला मंडल के साथ उपस्थित रही।

जरनैल सिंह वर्किंग जर्नलिस्ट मीडिया काउंसिल (पंजाब) के रेगुलेटिंग चेयरमैन नियुक्त

चंडीगढ़:--वर्किंग जर्नलिस्ट मीडिया काउंसिल, जो भारत सरकार के सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय के तहत डिजिटल मीडिया एथिक्स के लिए एक रजिस्टर्ड सेल्फ-रेगुलेटिंग बॉडी (SRB) है, ने जरनैल सिंह को पंजाब का रेगुलेटिंग चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया है। इस मौके पर वर्किंग जर्नलिस्ट मीडिया काउंसिल के नेशनल पदाधिकारी भी मौजूद थे।

वर्किंग जर्नलिस्ट मीडिया काउंसिल के ऑफिस में, संगठन के चेयरमैन कुमार सौरभ ने जरनैल सिंह को नियुक्ति पत्र और आई डी कार्ड सौंपा और उनकी जिम्मेदारियों और काम के बारे में गाइडलाइन दीं।

इस मौके पर, संगठन के नेशनल चेयरमैन कुमार सौरभ ने कहा कि पंजाब देश का एक बॉर्डर वाला राज्य है और वहां कई सोशल मीडिया चैनल बिना किसी सरकारी गाइडलाइन को फॉलो किए आज़ादी से चल रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि उनकी बॉडी जल्द ही पंजाब में ऐसे चैनलों के बीच जागरूकता पैदा करेगी और उन्हें रेगुलेटरी फ्रेमवर्क के तहत रजिस्टर करेगी।

नवनियुक्त पंजाब रेगुलेटिंग चेयरमैन जरनैल सिंह ने कहा कि पंजाब के सभी चैनलों को अब सरकारी नियमों के बारे में जागरूक किया जाएगा और उन्हें रेगुलेटरी सिस्टम के तहत लाया जाएगा। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि वर्किंग जर्नलिस्ट मीडिया काउंसिल ने उन पर जो भरोसा जताया है, उस पर खरा उतरने की वह पूरी कोशिश करेंगे।

टिहरी-गढ़वाल विकास परिषद की कार्यकारिणी की बैठक 24 मई को गढ़वाल भवन में

चण्डीगढ़ : टिहरी-गढ़वाल विकास परिषद, चंडीगढ़ के पदाधिकारियों की बैठक गढ़वाल भवन सेक्टर 29 ए चंडीगढ़ में संपन्न हुई जिसमें सर्वसम्मति से फैसला लिया गया कि कार्यकारिणी के समक्ष 2 साल के कार्यकाल का लेखा-जोखा आगामी 24 मई, दिन रविवार को किया जाएगा। बैठक में टिहरी-गढ़वाल विकास परिषद के समस्त पदाधिकारी महिला प्रकोष्ठ एवं समस्त कार्यकारिणी आम बैठक की तिथि निर्धारित करेगी।
आम बैठक में टिहरी-गढ़वाल विकास परिषद की इस टीम द्वारा किए गए दो वर्षों के कार्यकाल का संपूर्ण विवरण प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा, तथा आय-व्यय के बारे में भी जानकारी दी जाएगी।
गौरतलब है कि 1971 में स्थापित यह चंडीगढ़ दूसरी सबसे बड़ी संस्था है, जिसके सदस्यों की संख्या हजारों में है। संस्था के प्रधान दीपक उनियाल ने बताया कि आम बैठक के दौरान या इसके तुरंत बाद नवीन पदाधिकारीगण का चयन या निर्वाचन किया जाता है, जिसमें भारी संख्या में टिहरी गढ़वाल विकास परिषद के सदस्य भागीदारी निभाते हैं।

श्रीमद्भागवत भारतीय वाङ्मय का मुकुटमणि है : श्री बांके बिहारी पचौरी जी महाराज

चण्डीगढ़ : भागवत पुराण हिन्दुओं के अट्ठारह पुराणों में से एक है। इसे श्रीमद्भागवतम् या केवल भागवतम् भी कहते हैं। इसका मुख्य वर्ण्य विषय भक्ति योग है, जिसमें कृष्ण को सभी देवों का देव या स्वयं भगवान के रूप में चित्रित किया गया है। इसके अतिरिक्त इस पुराण में रस भाव की भक्ति का निरुपण भी किया गया है। परंपरागत तौर पर इस पुराण के रचयिता वेद व्यास को माना जाता है। ये कहना था कथावाचक श्री बांके बिहारी पचौरी जी महाराज का, जो श्री प्राचीन शिव मंदिर, सेक्टर 23-डी में श्रीमद् भागवत कथा कहते हुए इसकी व्याख्या कर रहे थे। उन्होंने कहा कि श्रीमद्भागवत भारतीय वाङ्मय का मुकुटमणि है। भगवान शुकदेव द्वारा महाराज परीक्षित को सुनाया गया भक्तिमार्ग तो मानो सोपान ही है।

मंदिर सभा के प्रधान रजनीश कालिया और महासचिव नरिन्दर सिंह डडवाल ने बताया कि मंदिर में वार्षिक मूर्ति स्थापना के अवसर पर श्रीमद् भागवत कथा रखी गई थी। आज अंतिम दिन को सुबह ध्वजारोहण व हवन-यज्ञ हुआ तथा श्री सिद्ध बाबा बालक नाथ जी की चौकी का भी आयोजन हुआ। इस अवसर पर मुनीष धंजल एवं उनकी पार्टी द्वारा भजन संध्या प्रस्तुत की गई। अंत में अटूट भंडारे का आयोजन भी किया गया।

CHANDIGARH, 21st May 2026:

Launching a strong attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Media In-Charge Baltej Pannu on Thursday accused the BJP of misusing central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to threaten, pressure and politically blackmail people into joining the party.

Addressing a press conference, AAP Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu pointed out that across the country, businessmen, university owners and political leaders are first raided or issued notices by central agencies and are later inducted into the BJP, after which no further action is taken against them. "This has become the BJP's standard political model across the country. First ED and CBI notices are issued, then pressure is created, and later people are told that if they join the BJP, all action against them will stop. The BJP is openly using central agencies for political expansion," he added.

Referring to Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal, Baltej Pannu said, "Ashok Mittal was raided and later joined the BJP. Similarly, despite pressure and raids, AAP leader Sanjeev Arora did not bow before the BJP, after which he was arrested. In another case, Gaurav Bagga received a CBI notice in connection with the Dalal Krishanu case and within days he was inducted into the BJP by Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar."

Targeting Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, Baltej Pannu said, "Sunil Jakhar once claimed that the BJP would uproot CM Bhagwant Singh Mann from Punjab politics. But the way BJP is inducting people today clearly exposes its politics of pressure, fear and intimidation."

Taking on Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu over his recent remarks in Punjab, Baltej Pannu referred to Bittu's visit to the hospital in Dhuri and said the Union Minister himself recorded videos praising the hospital arrangements, the OPD catering to nearly 600 patients and the NGO-run food services.

Baltej Pannu said, "Ravneet Singh Bittu himself admitted that around 100 people accompanying him were served food there. But after coming outside, he started claiming that there were no patients in the hospital and only stray dogs were present. These contradictory statements expose his political hypocrisy."

Questioning the lavish convoy accompanying the Union Minister, Baltej Pannu said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi repeatedly talks about reducing unnecessary expenditure, but Ravneet Singh Bittu moves around with nearly 50 vehicles in his convoy. BJP leaders should first practice what they preach."

Condemning Ravneet Singh Bittu's statement calling CM Bhagwant Singh Mann an "ISI agent," Baltej Pannu termed the allegation irresponsible and anti-Punjab. He said, "Such statements insult not only a democratically elected Chief Minister but also the entire people of Punjab. Punjabis have always sacrificed for the nation and can never betray the country."

Raising questions over terror attacks during the BJP-led central government's tenure, Baltej Pannu said, "The BJP should answer who was responsible for attacks like Pulwama and Pahalgam and why the complete truth behind those incidents has still not come before the people."

Referring to the Pathankot terror attack, Baltej Pannu said, "During that period, Pakistan's ISI was even brought into the investigation process. BJP leaders must explain what role the ISI played and whether any report was ever presented before the people of India."

Baltej Pannu also raised the issue of Aroosa Alam and said, "During the Congress government in Punjab, repeated questions were raised regarding Aroosa Alam's stay at the official residence of then CM Captain Amarinder Singh and her alleged links with the ISI. Ravneet Singh Bittu was a Congress MP at that time. Why did he remain silent then? The BJP-led central government should now conduct a full investigation into the matter."

Highlighting the work done by the Punjab Government over the last four years, Baltej Pannu said, "The Punjab Government has worked extensively in education, healthcare, canal water supply, infrastructure, free electricity, daytime power supply for farmers and free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh for citizens. BJP leaders should explain how a Chief Minister delivering these public welfare initiatives can be branded anti-national."

Demanding an apology from Ravneet Singh Bittu, Baltej Pannu said, "Punjabis will not tolerate such insults against their democratically elected Chief Minister without evidence. Ravneet Singh Bittu must either present proof for his allegations or publicly apologize to the people of Punjab."

फतेहाबाद जिला विकास एवं समन्वय समिति (दिशा) की बैठक का आयोजन लघु सचिवालय के सभागार में सिरसा लोकसभा क्षेत्र की सांसद कुमारी सैलजा की अध्यक्षता में किया गया। बैठक में उपायुक्त डॉ. विवेक भारती, पुलिस अधीक्षक श्रीमती निकिता खट्टर, एडीसी अनुराग ढालिया, नगराधीश गौरव गुप्ता, जिला परिवहन अधिकारी संजय बिश्नोई सहित विभिन्न विभागों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी मौजूद रहे।

बैठक के दौरान जिला प्रशासन की ओर से पिछली दिशा बैठक में सांसद सैलजा द्वारा दिए गए निर्देशों पर की गई कार्रवाई का ब्यौरा प्रस्तुत किया गया। विभिन्न विभागों के विकास कार्यों और योजनाओं की प्रगति की समीक्षा भी की गई। बैठक में सांसद ने नगर परिषद फतेहाबाद के कार्यों पर कड़ी नाराजगी जताई। उन्होंने शहर में सफाई व्यवस्था और अधूरे विकास कार्यों को लेकर अधिकारियों से जवाब तलब किया। नगर परिषद अधिकारियों ने कुछ कार्यों के लंबित रहने का कारण जमीन संबंधी मामला कोर्ट में विचाराधीन होना बताया।

इस पर सांसद सैलजा ने अधिकारियों को फटकार लगाते हुए कहा कि यदि नए कार्य किसी कारणवश शुरू नहीं हो पा रहे हैं तो पहले से पूरे हो चुके कार्यों की सफाई और रखरखाव क्यों नहीं किया जा रहा। उन्होंने अपने मोबाइल फोन में 20 मई के ताजा फोटो दिखाते हुए अधिकारियों से कहा कि शहर की वास्तविक स्थिति किसी से छिपी नहीं है और जनता को मूलभूत सुविधाएं उपलब्ध करवाना प्रशासन की जिम्मेदारी है।

बैठक के दौरान सांसद कुमारी सैलजा ने पब्लिक हेल्थ विभाग के अधिकारियों को भी कार्यों में लापरवाही को लेकर खरी-खरी सुनाई और निर्देश दिए कि आमजन से जुड़े कार्यों में किसी प्रकार की ढिलाई बर्दाश्त नहीं की जाएगी। सांसद ने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि विकास कार्यों में तेजी लाई जाए तथा शहर में सफाई, पेयजल और अन्य मूलभूत सुविधाओं को प्राथमिकता के आधार पर दुरुस्त किया जाए।

The Sirsa MP, Kumari Selja chaired the meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at the Mini Secretariat auditorium in Fatehabad and reviewed the progress of various development works and government schemes. Deputy Commissioner Dr Vivek Bharti, Superintendent of Police Nikita Khattar, ADC Anurag Dhalia, City Magistrate Gaurav Gupta, District Transport Officer Sanjay Bishnoi and senior officials of different departments were present at the meeting.

During the session, the district administration presented a report on the action taken regarding the directions issued by Kumari Selja in the previous DISHA meeting. Expressing strong displeasure over the functioning of the Municipal Council, Fatehabad, Selja sought explanations from officials regarding sanitation arrangements and incomplete development works in the city. Municipal Council officials stated that some projects were pending because land-related matters were under consideration in court.

Kumari Selja said that even if new works could not begin due to certain reasons, the authorities should at least ensure proper cleanliness and maintenance of already completed projects. Showing recent photographs dated May 20 on her mobile phone, she told officials that the actual condition of the city was visible to everyone and that providing basic civic amenities was the administration’s responsibility. During the meeting, Kumari Selja also reprimanded Public Health Department officials over alleged negligence in public-related works and directed them to ensure that no laxity would be tolerated in matters concerning common people. She instructed officials to speed up development works and prioritise sanitation, drinking water supply and other essential public facilities in the city.

CGC University Mohali Signs Strategic MoU with Young Indians During Management Summit 2026

Taking another significant step towards strengthening industry-academia collaboration and enhancing students’ practical learning experiences, the School of Management Studies at CGC University Mohali signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Young Indians, a prominent initiative of the Confederation of Indian Industry. The agreement was signed during the university’s “Management Summit 2026” held on campus.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Uma P. Jaidev, Dean of the School of Management Studies, and Mr. Aksh*t Garg, Director of Core Metal Crafts Limited and Chairman of Young Indians (Chandigarh Chapter), in the presence of Dr. Harleen Kaur Dhillon, faculty members, students, and industry experts.

ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਜਗਤਾਰ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੇਖਣੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਦਰਦਾਨ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ I ਹਰਜੀਤ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਾਕੜਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਸੰਜੀਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ I ਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲੇਖਕ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ਼ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਹੈ I ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਤਰਲੋਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਾਕੜਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਂ ਬੋਲੀ ਦਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਪੁੱਤ ਦੱਸਿਆ I ਕਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੀਰਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਰਾਜ ਕਾਕੜਾ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਫ਼ਲਸਫ਼ੇ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਵੀ ਬਾਕਮਾਲ ਹੈ I ਗੀਤਕਾਰ ਭੱਟੀ ਭੜੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਰਾਜ ਕਾਕੜਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਗੀਤਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੜੇ ਮਾਣ ਨਾਲ਼ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ I ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਹਰਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਵਿਰਕ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੀ ਗਾਇਕੀ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੰਮੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ I ਗੀਤਕਾਰ, ਗਾਇਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਰਾਜ ਕਾਕੜਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਪੈਂਡਾ ਤੈਅ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਈ ਪੜਾਵਾਂ ਚੋਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੋਂ ਰੱਬੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਸਬੱਬ ਬਣ ਗਈ I

सेक्टर 19 में बरसों से बंद ट्यूबवेल में अवैध कब्जे को लेकर एमसीपीएच विभाग ने पुलिस से मांगी कार्रवाई

7-8 लोगों का परिवार रह रहा है वहां

चंडीगढ़। सेक्टर 19-ए स्थित काली माता मंदिर के नजदीक अरसे से बंद पड़े ट्यूबवेल परिसर में अवैध कब्जे का मामला सामने आया है। एम.सी.पी.एच. सब डिवीजन नंबर-4 के सब डिविजनल इंजीनियर ने इस संबंध में थाना सेक्टर-19 पुलिस को पत्र भेजकर तत्काल कार्रवाई की मांग की है। प्राप्त विवरण के अनुसार कुछ अज्ञात लोग बिना किसी अनुमति के बंद पड़े ट्यूबवेल परिसर में रह रहे हैं। विभाग के मुताबिक इस संबंध में पहले भी कई बार शिकायतें की जा चुकी हैं, लेकिन अब तक कोई प्रभावी कार्रवाई नहीं हुई। पत्र में कहा गया है कि अवैध कब्जे के कारण आसपास के लोगों को असुविधा हो रही है और स्थिति गंभीर बनी हुई है।
विभाग ने पुलिस प्रशासन से अनुरोध किया है कि मामले की जांच कर जल्द से जल्द अवैध कब्जाधारियों को हटाने की कार्रवाई की जाए। साथ ही इस मामले को “अत्यंत जरूरी” बताते हुए त्वरित हस्तक्षेप की मांग की गई है।
इस पत्र की एक प्रति चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन के एनफोर्समेंट विंग को भी आवश्यक कार्रवाई हेतु भेजी गई है।
उल्लेखनीय है कि बीते दिनों से नगर निगम और प्रशासन द्वारा शहर में अतिक्रमण हटाने के लिए लगातार अभियान चलाए जा रहे हैं। अभी कल ही प्रशासक के दरबार में शिकायत मिलने पर सेक्टर 18 डी में स्थित सार्वजनिक शौचालय ब्लॉक के गलियारे में अवैध रूप से कब्जा करके रह रहे परिवार से सरकारी स्थल को कब्जामुक्त करवाया था।

हरमिलाप नगर रेलवे अंडरपास परियोजना को लेकर किए गए लंबे जनसंघर्ष और ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि के लिए प्रताप सिंह राणा को सम्मानित किया गया

ज़ीरकपुर : आज भारतीय जनता पार्टी के ज़ीरकपुर मुख्यालय में आयोजित एक प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस के दौरान हरमिलाप नगर रेलवे अंडरपास परियोजना को लेकर किए गए लंबे जनसंघर्ष और ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि के लिए प्रताप सिंह राणा, प्रधान जॉइंट एक्शन कमेटी फॉर वेलफेयर ऑफ़ बलटाना रेसिडेंट्स को विशेष रूप से सम्मानित किया गया।

इस अवसर पर हल्का डेराबस्सी के वरिष्ठ नेता सरदार गुरदर्शन सिंह सैनी, वरिष्ठ नेता प्रदीप शर्मा, मंडल प्रधान सुरेश खटकड़ सहित अनेक गणमान्य नेताओं एवं कार्यकर्ताओं की उपस्थिति में राणा को शाल ओढ़ाकर एवं तलवार भेंट कर सम्मानित किया गया। कार्यक्रम में वक्ताओं ने कहा कि हरमिलाप नगर अंडरपास की मंजूरी और शिलान्यास क्षेत्र की वर्षों पुरानी मांग थी, जिसे पूरा करवाने के लिए प्रताप सिंह राणा ने पिछले आठ वर्षों तक लगातार संघर्ष, आंदोलन तथा छह बार आमरण अनशन कर क्षेत्रवासियों की आवाज़ को बुलंद किया।

सम्मान प्राप्त करते हुए प्रताप सिंह राणा ने इस उपलब्धि को पूरे बलटाना क्षेत्र के निवासियों, संयुक्त संघर्ष समिति के साथियों तथा जनसमर्थन को समर्पित करते हुए कहा कि यह सम्मान किसी एक व्यक्ति का नहीं बल्कि पूरे क्षेत्र की एकजुटता, संघर्ष और जनशक्ति का सम्मान है। उन्होंने सभी जनप्रतिनिधियों, प्रशासन तथा क्षेत्रवासियों का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि क्षेत्र के विकास और जनहित के मुद्दों पर उनका संघर्ष आगे भी जारी रहेगा।

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and Minister of Patriots & Veterans Affairs, Republic of Korea (RoK) Mr Kwon Oh-eul jointly inaugurated the Indian War Memorial at Imjingak Park, Seoul on May 21, 2026. Constructed as part of the commemorative events marking the 75th anniversary of the Korean War, the memorial stands as a tribute to the courage, sacrifice and humanitarian service rendered by the 60 Para Field Ambulance of the Indian Army and the Custodian Force of India (CFI) during the war.

The two Ministers laid a wreath at the memorial and paid homage to the brave Indian personnel whose service continues to be remembered with deep respect and gratitude by the people of the Republic of Korea.

In his remarks, Raksha Mantri highlighted the enduring legacy of India’s contribution to peace and humanitarian assistance on the Korean Peninsula. He noted that the shared history and sacrifices of the two nations continue to serve as a strong foundation for the India-Republic of Korea Special Strategic Partnership.

Shri Rajnath Singh added that commemorating the role of Indian troops helps strengthen people-to-people understanding and brings renewed attention to the historic bonds between the two countries. On behalf of the Government of India, he extended deep appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Korea, particularly the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, for their valuable support and cooperation in the establishment of the memorial.

The Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs of the Republic of Korea expressed deep appreciation for India’s role during the Korean War. He acknowledged the lasting bonds of friendship forged through the sacrifices and humanitarian service of Indian troops.

An MoU was signed by the two Ministers aimed at cooperation for honouring the veterans of the Korean war and strengthening exchanges between them. A memoir was also released in remembrance of the selfless sacrifice of the soldiers.

The 60 Para Field Ambulance, commanded by Lt Col (Dr) AG Rangaraj, Maha Vir Chakra, earned widespread recognition for its exemplary medical service & dedication in treating thousands of wounded soldiers and civilians under extremely challenging conditions of crossfire. Their unmatched bravery and humanitarian approach earned them the title of ‘Maroon Angels’, given to them by the wounded soldiers and civilian population of RoK.

India also played a pivotal role in the post-armistice phase of the Korean War through CFI, which was entrusted with the responsibilities under the Neutral Nations Repatriation Commission (NNRC). The NNRC, chaired by India under the leadership of Lt Gen KS Thimayya, was established to facilitate the humane repatriation and custody of prisoners of war following the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953.

The CFI carried out this sensitive and complex responsibility with professionalism, impartiality & compassion, earning international recognition for its contribution to peace, reconciliation and humanitarian principles on the Korean Peninsula. Lt Gen Thimayya’s distinguished leadership and diplomatic acumen remain an enduring symbol of India’s constructive and peace-oriented role during the Korean War.

The Indian War Memorial has been constructed in the same area where the CFI had established the ‘HIND NAGAR’ in September 1954, housing almost 22,000 prisoners of war till their peaceful repatriation. The project has been undertaken with funding support from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, reflecting India’s deep respect for the shared history and enduring friendship between the two countries.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from both countries, military representatives, veterans, members of the diplomatic community and distinguished guests. Ms Kalpana Prasad, niece of Lt Col (Dr) AG Rangaraj, was also present on the occasion. The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs of Korea has dedicated this month in the honour of Colonel Rangaraj.

The commemoration served as an important effort to revive and honour a significant yet relatively lesser-known chapter of shared India-Republic of Korea history. The contributions of Indian personnel during the Korean War remain a powerful symbol of India’s long standing commitment to peace, humanitarian assistance and international cooperation. With the inauguration of the Indian War Memorial, Raksha Mantri has concluded his four-day visit to Vietnam and South Korea.
