Clarion NIT Rourkela

Clarion is registered under the Literary & Cultural Society, SAC, NIT Rourkela. The club's activities are aimed at enhancing articulation and creativity!

The club is an initiative by students to promote the culture of oratory, debate and elocution. Clarion is the Debating club of NIT Rourkela under Student Activity Centre (SAC). We primarily engage in inter-Varsity Parliamentary Debating and also writing.

Clarion takes great pleasure in announcing that our team, comprised of Aryaman Khuntia, Srishti Banerjee, and Tamman Patnaik, emerged as the Novice Winners at the 14th CNLU PD '23, which was held from September 22nd to 24th, 2023.

We are equally thrilled to acknowledge Harsh Baid's achievement as he broke in as an adjudicator and went on to judge the Novice semifinals.

Clarion-The Literary and Debating Society of the National Institute of Technology Rourkela sent a contingent of 3 teams, namely

Phoenix (Tanya Gupta, Seemantho Chakraborty, Subhra Sephali Sahu)

Triple A (Ananya Sutar, Adrish Chakraborty,Aryaman Khuntia)

'Will decide later' ( Shivam Kumar, Rishu Nideesh Pathak, Abhinav Jha) and

4 Adjudicator namely Siddhartha Priyadarshi, Amiyendra Senapati, Muskan Nain and Harsh Baid to take part in the IIT Guwahati Parliamentary Debate organised from 2-5 February 2023 as part of Alcheringa, the annual cultural fest of IITG.

We take immense pride in announcing that the team 'Will Decide Later' emerged as the National runner-up of the Tournament.

Clarion takes great pleasure in announcing that Harsh Baid broke in as an Adjudicator at the Niqaash PD 2021. He also went on to chair the Octo Finals!

Clarion is extremely proud to announce that Saketh Avula had been selected as an Invited Adjudicator at the Sishu Griha Parliamentary Debate 2022 that took place from 19-21 August.

He went on to judge the Open Semi-Finals💯

We take great pleasure in announcing that Adrish Chakraborty, Ananya Sutar, and Aryaman Khuntia had been accepted as Subsidized Adjudicators and managed to break at Windsor Juniors that took place from 9 to 10 July.
Further, they went on to judge the Novice Finals and Adrish Chakraborty also judged the Open Finals.

Clarion celebrates Saketh Avula's recent accomplishment in the Doxbridge WSDC that took place from 8 to 10 July 2022.
He participated as an invited adjudicator and managed to break in the tournament. He further went on to judge the Open Quarter Finals.💯

Team Breaks:
The team comprising Aryaman Khuntia, Ananya Sutar, and Adrish Chakraborty broke in and emerged as Quarter-Finalists.

Adjudicator Break: Siddhartha Priyadarshi was the quarter-finals judge.

Clarion is proud to announce that in the Symvarta PD organized by SLS Nagpur that took place from 25-27 March 2022, team 'Triple A' broke in and ranked 2nd on the team tabs. They emerged as Quater-Finalists of the tournament!

All three members finished in top 10 of the speaker tabs. With Aryaman Khuntia placing 2nd, Ananya Sutar 7th placing and Adrish Chakraborty placing 9th 💯
