Sikkim is currently experiencing a significant increase in tourist arrivals during the winter season, with popular destinations across the state reporting near-full occupancy. North Sikkim's Lachung is fully booked, while East Sikkim's Nathula and Zuluk have witnessed a substantial influx of tourists since December 22. According to official data, 1,516 tourist vehicles visited Tsomgu, Babamandir, Nathula Pass in East Sikkim on December 28, 2025, highlighting the magnitude of the seasonal rush. On that single day, 6,080 tourists visited Nathula, comprising both domestic and foreign travelers. The domestic tourist footfall comprised 3,418 males, 1,621 females, and 874 children. The number of foreign tourists also showed a notable presence, with 20 males, 21 females, and 26 children visiting the high-altitude destination.
