The rumors regarding an Assassin’s Creed 1 Remake have reached a fever pitch following Ubisoft's official reveal of the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remake just last week and Industry insider Tom Henderson (via Insider Gaming) reported yesterday that Ubisoft has another remake in active development alongside Black Flag Resynced.

While this could technically mean the Ezio Trilogy, most fans and leakers are pointing toward AC1, as it is the only mainline title that hasn't received a modern remaster or port (unlike AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations, and AC3).

Reports suggest that the scale and style of the Black Flag Resynced remake (slated for July 9, 2026) will serve as the blueprint for future projects. It is being built on the newest version of the Anvil Engine, which includes the parkour and stealth improvements first seen in AC Mirage.

Ubisoft is allegedly pivoting to a "Remake + New Title" alternating schedule to manage the rising costs of their massive RPG titles (like the upcoming AC Hexe).

A persistent rumor from late 2025 suggested that AC Mirage (set in Baghdad) was essentially a "test bed" for AC1 remake assets. Since Alamut and the Levant assets were already created for Mirage, leakers claim a full remake of Altaïr’s story in Masyaf and Damascus would be technically "easier" and more cost-effective than starting from scratch.

While not officially announced, the recent success of the "back to roots" gameplay in Mirage and the confirmation of the Black Flag remake make an AC1 PS5 Remake almost certain.

Most of this information comes from well-known internet leakers—individuals who often share insider details about upcoming projects. While these claims should still be taken with caution, there are a few reasons why many people consider them fairly believable:

▪️ First, the leaker behind this information has a solid track record, having previously shared accurate details about God of War: Ragnarök and related content.

▪️ Second, there are hints within Ragnarök itself. Toward the end of the game, a character is shown exploring and practicing techniques from different cultures. Throughout the story, subtle references to civilizations like Egypt, Japan, and the Mayan world can also be noticed, hinting at a broader mythological scope.

▪️ Lastly, the silence from the developers is also noteworthy. In many cases, when major leaks are completely false, companies tend to deny them quickly. The lack of any response here has led some fans to believe there could be some truth behind these reports.

At the end of the day, until an official reveal happens, it’s best to treat all of this as speculation—but it definitely makes the future of God of War more exciting to think about.

While the project was rumored for some time following the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake in 2024, the situation has solidified over the last few months.

In an investor call in late April 2026, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno confirmed that the game has moved out of pre-production and is now being handled by one of the studio's two main "first-party" teams.

Reports suggest the remake is utilizing Bloober Team's new "Open Cities" technology, which implies the 1999 original’s fog-covered streets may be more seamless and explorable than ever before.

Rumors from early 2026 indicate that the original series composer, Akira Yamaoka, is returning to rework the iconic industrial-horror soundtrack, though Konami has yet to make a formal press announcement regarding the music.

There is no official release date yet. However, given that Silent Hill 2 took roughly two years from its full reveal to launch, industry analysts are currently eyeing a late 2027 or early 2028 release window for Harry Mason’s return to the fog.
