Valentine’s Day – Grandparents’ day
Valentine’s Day, the day of celebrating love. The day when we express our love and affection towards our dear ones. In our country, this day is considered as a cultural contamination from the west though this day is considered as the cultural-cum-traditional one in the western countries. But, Valentine’s Day actually means to express and celebrate our love for and with our companions.... Let them be our siblings, our friends, our parents, our grandparents or our life partners. So, we, a bunch of youngsters, wish to spread awareness that this day is the day of celebrating love and not a form of demonizing the culture. So ultimately, we are going to celebrate this day with our senior citizens, our grandparents who are sent to the old age homes by their ruthless children instead of taking care of them and supporting them at the age when their parents need them the most.
The Idea is:
To take out time from our so called ‘busy schedule’ and to celeberate this Valentine’s Day with grandparents (at old age homes). To temporarily soothe them from their daily life. To let them know that they are not alone.
How are we going to do it?
We are going to form a team of supporters who are willingly ready to volunteer the event. The event will be organised at a old age home called ‘ Vrudhashram’ at Karve Nagar, Kothrud.
