Stalwarts Of Music with Aditya Veera ft. Gary Husband(Gary Husband) and Special Guest Amyt Datta
Gary Husband is one of a rare breed of musicians in that his expression is divided equally in his capacity as a drummer and a pianist and keyboardist of international repute. His classical roots, his quest and development in the improvisational, jazz and jazz/fusion areas – not to mention his tenure in the pop, rock, funk and blues circuits – are all evident inside Gary’s distinct and far-reaching musical personality.
For close to four decades Gary has worked alongside a vast and eclectic range of celebrated musicians including John McLaughlin ,Allan Holdsworth, Jeff Beck , Jack Bruce (Cream - Band ), Gary Moore (Thin Lizzy ), British pop/funk band Level 42, Billy Cobham ,Al Jarreau, Mike Stern (Miles Davis), John Wetter (King Crimson ), Chris Squire (YES (official) ), Andy Summers Music (The Police), Steve Hackett (Genesis ), Robin Trower (Procol Harum), and with producers Sir George Martin (The Beatles ), Trevor Horn (Grace Jones & Art of Noise), Quincy Jones and many more. He is also known for his association with Indian drumming virtuoso Ranjit Barot.
Amyt Datta is a guitarist, composer, producer and educator from Kolkata. He is widely acknowledged to be one of the most innovative musicians in the country. Over the nearly five decades that Datta has nurtured the guitar as his go-to instrument, his music has undergone a sea change. Pop, rock, and jazz inflexions have given way to a fusion of sound colours which refuses to be tied to any distinct genre. Datta now uses his music to showcase concepts, emotions, memories and moods – as though painting from a palette of auditory impulses. Never one to rest on the mastery he has come to acquire on his instrument, he continually pushes forward into new creative frontiers.
