With Maa Durga’s blessings and the spirit of togetherness, NMBA has officially begun preparations for Sharodotsav 2026. The first preparatory meeting was held at NMBA Premises on Sunday, 21st June 2026 commencing on an auspicious note and marking the beginning of NMBA’s journey towards its grand 47th year of Durga Puja celebrations.

International Day of Yoga | 21 June

Observed every year on 21 June, the International Day of Yoga celebrates yoga as a timeless gift of Indian heritage that promotes physical health, mental well-being, harmony and inner peace. Officially adopted by the United Nations in 2014 following India’s proposal, the day has grown into a global movement inspiring healthier and more balanced living.

Navi Mumbai Bengali Association commemorated the occasion with a packed-house participation, bringing together attendees from various age groups in a shared spirit of wellness and positivity.

The yoga session was led by Ms Soma Das, a certified Yoga Trainer, Naturotherapist and Power Yoga Trainer with over 12 years of experience in health, wellness and holistic living. Through yoga camps, workshops and training sessions, she has guided many individuals towards better health, inner peace and a balanced lifestyle.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Ms Soma Das for conducting such an enriching and inspiring session and thank all members and participants whose enthusiastic presence made the celebration truly special.

NMBA Celebrates International Yoga Day 2026 !!

Navi Mumbai Bengali Association is delighted to celebrate International Yoga Day on Sunday, 21 June 2026, with a special wellness session conducted by Ms. Soma Das, a certified Yoga Trainer, Naturotherapist and Power Yoga Trainer with over 12 years of experience in the field of health, wellness and holistic living.

Trained at Yoga Vidhya Niketan, Soma Das has dedicated more than a decade to helping individuals discover the transformative power of yoga. Through numerous yoga camps, workshops and training programmes, she has guided hundreds of participants towards improved physical health, mental well-being, inner peace and a balanced lifestyle.

Believing that yoga is much more than physical exercise, Soma combines the wisdom of traditional yoga, naturopathy and modern fitness techniques to empower individuals to unlock their true potential and lead healthier, happier lives. Her mission is to help people experience the life-changing benefits of yoga, fostering wellness of both body and mind.

With warmth and nostalgia, the Anchor traced the soul of Poila Boishakh, the fragrance of Gondhoraj Lebu, the hope inked in every Haalkhata. A tribute to Bengal, beating in every heart far from home.

Honrable President Shri Sukanta Nag was invited to the stage. His address echoed resolve to hold our roots close while our wings take flight.

The evening turned to verse and thought as Team Lona Hawa stepped forward. Amid applause, the Poila Boishakh Edition of Lona Hawa was unveiled. The salty air of stories, poems, and memories
carrying our legacy to tomorrow.

The stage then belonged to Singer Agnibha, introduced for his much-awaited performance. His electrifying voice bridged the old and the new, leaving the audience swaying to every note.

Stories took shape in movement with a dance drama set to the immortal compositions of Salil Choudhury. Choreographed by Soma Das, Esha Basu, Dona Majumdar. It was poetry in motion- nostalgia draped in rhythm.
🎨 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰-
Young dreams found recognition as Smt. Mahua Chakraborty, esteemed judge, presented prizes to the winners of the Drawing Competition. Every stroke of colour a promise of the future.

🌾Poila Boishakh 2026 : NMBA - An Evening Woven in Culture 🌾
(PART-II : 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲)

𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔
As Nababarsha spilled its first gold over Navi Mumbai, the NMBA family gathered with Hands Full of Flowers, Heart Full of Reverence.
Petals of Pushpanjali fell at Maa Bhuvanmohini’s feet as tradition, art and culture wove into the hush of new beginning.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐝

✨ 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞-
Cultural Secretary Ms. Philomina Biswas opened the evening with grace, introducing our Sanchalika Rituparna Datta, the voice who would weave the night together.
🎤 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐡 -
With warmth and nostalgia, the Anchor traced the soul of Poila Boishakh, the fragrance of Gondhoraj Lebu, the hope inked in every Haalkhata. A tribute to Bengal, beating in every heart far from home.
🌼 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐦-
Honrable President Shri Sukanta Nag was invited to the stage. His address echoed resolve to hold our roots close while our wings take flight.
📖 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐇𝐚𝐰𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐠 -
The evening turned to verse and thought as Team Lona Hawa stepped forward. Amid applause, the Poila Boishakh Edition of Lona Hawa was unveiled. The salty air of stories, poems, and memories
carrying our legacy to tomorrow.
🎶 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐡𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐚 -𝐀𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐣𝐞𝐞
The stage then belonged to Singer Agnibha, introduced for his much-awaited performance. His electrifying voice bridged the old and the new, leaving the audience swaying to every note.
💃 𝐍𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲𝐨 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚 - 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐲
Stories took shape in movement with a dance drama set to the immortal compositions of Salil Choudhury. Choreographed by Soma Das, Esha Basu, Dona Majumdar. It was poetry in motion- nostalgia draped in rhythm.
🎨 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰-
Young dreams found recognition as Smt. Mahua Chakraborty, esteemed judge, presented prizes to the winners of the Drawing Competition. Every stroke of colour a promise of the future.
🏅 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞-
Honrable President Shri Sukanta Nag, Sr. Vice President Shri Khushiram Bhardwaj and General Secretary Shri Somnath Chatterjee felicitated Smt. Rituparna Datta, Smt. Mahua Chakraborty and Singer Agnibha Banerjee- honouring the hands that nurture art and the voices that uplift it.
🥁 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐫-
The musicians: Tapas Chakraborty, Subroto Paul, Atul Ghosh & Munna. The pulse behind every melody were felicitated with heartfelt gratitude. Without their taal, no celebration is complete.
