This little bird wasn't supposed to look like this...
It started as a plain white ceramic bird until one day it slipped, cracked, and I thought it was beyond saving.
Instead of throwing it away, I tried something I'd been experimenting with for the miniature houses I made before.

The blue patterns not only hid the cracks beautifully, but somehow gave it far more character than it had before. I even added a cork base underneath to make it sturdier and non-slip.

Funny how the pieces you almost give up on sometimes become your favourites.

I have a feeling this won't be the last one I make. šŸ’™

Yesterday, we imagined who lived behind these windows. Today, let's step outside.

The canal is quiet.
The cafƩ on the corner has just opened.
A bicycle rolls over the bridge.
Fresh flowers sit on a windowsill, catching the morning light.

That's where these little houses begin for me, not as dƩcor, but as a place.

Handmade from POP, painted with acrylics, and finished with delicate gold accents, each one is inspired by the timeless charm of Amsterdam's canal streets.

Maybe that's why they feel less like souvenirs...
..and more like memories waiting to be made.

I bet you imagined someone living behind at least one of these windows. ✨

I did too.

Every window belongs to someone.

Someone reading before bed.
Someone waiting for a friend.
Someone watching the rain.

Whenever I paint these little houses, I can't help imagining the lives unfolding behind each tiny window.

Each one begins as a simple POP casting before being carefully hand-painted with layers of acrylic. The finishing touch is a touch of gold, not to make them look perfect, but to give them the warmth and character of old European buildings kissed by the evening sun.

I think that's what I love most about creating miniature houses.

They're not just tiny pieces of dƩcor.

They're little places for memories, stories, and daydreams to live.
