Eco-Lit Conference This conference aims at studying the evolution of the same along with their critical ties with shifts in modern day consumerism.

An individual's opinions, thoughts and ideologies are subject to the influence of not only his own values and beliefs but also those of his surrounding environment. The most important concepts of this world have undergone a gradual and considerable change throughout time, and the realms of economics and literature are no stranger to such change and interpretation. Scholars have given birth to new

ways of looking at core concepts such as Communism, Capitalism and Socialism which have shaped entire bodies of work and research, creating hence, new theories as well as controversy. The Economics and English Departments of St Xavier's College (Autonomous) present to you the 'Economics-Literature Conference 2017', an amalgamation of the two seemingly standalone disciplines of economics and literature. This melange helps us to understand various manifestations of economic thought through the medium of literature and arts. Along with talks on the evolution of these ideologies by a variety of eminent speakers, paper presentations and a stimulating panel discussion, this conference aims to better our knowledge in the vast fields of economics and literature and spark discussion, debate, and thought in the young minds of today.
