Ansh Theatre Group by Makarand Deshpande Makrand Deshpande started his theatre group "Ansh" in 1993. It has created an audience for itself over the years by doing original plays.

Makrand Deshpande started his theatre group Ansh in 1993 and has written, produced and directed about 30 plays since. Ansh believes in harnessing the raw talent of actors, to create plays which spring from what they have to offer. Ansh also believes in creating original and unusual work- using space, sound, and the very actors themselves. Ansh again is one of the rare Hindi theatre groups in the city that has created an audience by doing theatre that has both style and vigour.

Ansh theatre group presents its first presentation of the year from 17th - 22nd February 2026 it’s favourite place.
We are bringing back one of our all time hit production Epic Gadbad and premiering a new production “ America Hazir Ho “ a theatre trial.
In between we have the mix of our hit plays with high on emotions and a roller coaster ride.

The play revolves around the importance of love and memory. A man wished to fly and tried to empty himself of all feelings. He gave up anger, greed, happiness, and laughter. At last, only love and memories remained, but he let them go too.
