Our Autumn Online Auction offers a set of five stellar works on paper from the Kalighat School.

A traditional Indian art style that originated in the vicinity of the Kalighat Kali Temple in then Calcutta, this school of painting flourished through the 19th and early 20th centuries, recording a rapidly changing socio-cultural landscape under British influence.

Marked by bold, sweeping outlines, vibrant, fluid brushwork, and minimal or no background details, these works were rendered with water-based opaque pigments and imported British watercolours.

This exquisite set is now open for bidding. Bring them home via the link in bio.
