Years before AI became part of everyday conversation, Ex Machina (2014) explored a far more unsettling possibility: not machines conquering humans, but machines understanding us better than we understand ourselves.

Instead of focusing on destruction, director Alex Garland examines consciousness, manipulation, desire, and power through the story of Ava an AI whose greatest weapon isn’t strength, but persuasion.
