This is a fantastic original series on

I loved the story, the writing, the screenplay and direction. Let us not forget the performances by and

The other smaller performances were amazing as well.

But believe me, the musical score elevates every scene , from the haunting title to the end credits.

Kudos to .music the composers. They did everything right from getting every mood captured by the score. Most importantly the use of local Rajasthani instruments and style is mindblowing and authentic, something many famous composers get wrong in big budget movies too.

Not to forget the music producer

The opening credits before every episode has a scary and haunting music , thanks to the use of instruments like Murli, Kamaicha, Nagada

There are other instruments known to the region alone like Kartal, Morchang and the famous Sarangi

There were a few scenes involving where the brilliant excels on the Violin and Viola

India has always been blessed with astonishing musicians who have achieved great feats. When I had to listen to retro goldies in the 1980s , the pioneer made some breathtaking music and people in TN slowly started moving away from dependency on music by and many more

When we hit the 1980s and 1990s GOAT made our lives better simply by creating music and bringing paradise to earth. This period saw music lovers like me completely shut ourselves away from any mediocrity all across India.

2000s belonged to and modified sound like never before and he took tamil music to Hindi heartland and Indian music globally as well

Following that very-hard-to-live-upto pedigree came and he is like the combination of all the best parts of all past greats. He is undoubtedly Indias best music composer and his brand of music can make any global composer run for his money

On his birthday I'm urging music lovers and young musicians to listen to his original background music and . According to me the former is 2021 s best Indian BGM score and the latter will definitely be 2023 s. Both would be getting perfect scores of 5/5 and without any exaggeration i believe both scores will beat 95% of other musicians and their work in the last 3 years.

What if GOD , a Genius and a modern day Great all got into a battle at the same time?

Yes is composing the original bgm score and songs for s . I have been waiting for this one because is a director who employs great musicians for his projects and recognizes the value of a valuable and pertinent musical score. I am certain the score will be a revelation , while the Master has just lost his way in scoring songs and who can blame him after scoring for more than 1000 movies

has and the Mozart of Madras is all set to deliver a strong performance ahead of the much awaited sequel . s core strength has always been songs over background music, still it would be fun to watch in the theaters and hope for a rousing soundtrack.

would be s chance to show that more than just need his service to music. He is a modern day Great and in my opinion the best Indian composer. The songs are already brilliant and i expect the strongest performance on bgm by this man in comparison to the other two when all these movies release on 30th March 2023

I have been listening to music ever since I was a kid and thankfully music appreciation started getting rooted in me very early.

It all began when I started listening to English pop when we were living in the Middle East and then in the US. I fell in love with musicians like Phil Collins, Elton John, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston and bands like A-ha, Police, Bangles and so many more. I was exposed to Maestro and G.O.A.T. Ilaiyaraja owing to this change of base. After that came AR Rahman and Vidyasagar as well. Even before these greats, we had MS Vishwanathan and Ramamurthy compose amazing music in Tamil. 

If you notice the difference between paragraphs 1 and 2, the earlier has both men and women musicians who not only sang but also wrote their own songs. The second paragraph however only has a male name. Composers, Producers and Songwriters are at the top of the musical food chain and they have mostly been men in the Indian scene. I wanted to try and analyse why this could be. But before getting deeper into the reasoning, I wanted to do some background research and know about female music directors and composers before my time. 

In the 1930s and 1940s, there was India's first female composer called Saraswati Devi. Then came Jaddanbhai Hussain whowas a composer, writer, actress and director.Usha Khanna. She scored music for around 3 decades between the 1960s and 1990s with around 150 movies to her credit.

On December 18th 2022, I got an opportunity to listen to a unique concert called Mama. It encapsulates everything I have been trying to say and do as a music journalist in the last 2years.

The concert set in a beautiful farmhouse, surrounded by nature and water set the tone for the concept that Marma is. She started with a Varnam 'Gopala pruthvi chandana' composed in Raag Shyam Kalyan. A varnam is a classical format to start a carnatic concert especially apt for the ongoing Margazhi season. The next song was a Namasankeerthanam or an invocation to the Lord, also called a Bhagwantwadiyacharane
