Engineers’ Day is celebrated on September 15 every year since 1967, in order to commemorate the birth anniversary of one of the greatest engineers of India, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya. In 1912, Dr. MV was appointed as Deewan of Mysore. He was awarded with Bharat Ratna in 1955 for his contribution towards Nation Building. By drawing inspiration from his contribution towards nation and his prolific personality one can inculcate his values and ethics in his life. In order to honour his achievements and contributions towards the country, ECE Department, M.M.E.C organized Engineer’s Day in association with MSME Govt. of India, Karnal; Punjab National Bank, Ambala; and DIC Ambala. Dr. Ashok Kumar Arora, Pro- Vice Chancellor and Director MMEC, welcomed the members from MSME, DIC and PNB. While addressing the students, Mr. Sunil Kumar Ji, familiarized students with different MSME schemes for funding the small enterprises/to setup new business ventures. Dr. Naresh Singla Ji, Lead District Manager, PNB, Ambala motivated students with his encouraging live example. Dr. Sharad Sharma, Prof. & Head, ECE Department thanked all the guests, members of organizing committee and students for making this event a grand success.
On this occasion, the budding engineers and students from Life sciences, had displayed 36 projects and shared their project ideas with Dr. Naresh Singla, LDM PNB Ambala, and Mr. Sunil Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME Karnal, Ms. Vijay Laxmi, Jt. Director, DIC, Ambala. The exhibition was held at three different venues (i) Reading room , Old Engineering Block-I; (ii) Bosch Center of Excellence; (iii) Seminar Hall, New Engineering Block-II. Also, the performance of their projects was judged on the basis of different judgment criteria. All the students of engineering and Life sciences visited the exhibition and were inspired by the innovative ideas and skills of students.
