In art, the color purple is often associated with depth, dignity, and a quiet, royal strength. It is a color that doesn't demand attention through brightness, but holds space through its profound presence. That is exactly what our son became for us—a quiet pillar of dignity and resilience when we needed it most. Hydrangeas are made of countless small, delicate petals that cluster together to create something incredibly resilient and breathtakingly beautiful. They symbolize deep understanding and heartfelt gratitude. My son taught me that understanding doesn't require speech, and strength doesn't always wear a loud armor. Sometimes, it looks like a nonverbal young man quietly holding your bag in a hospital waiting room, showing you that the one you thought you were protecting is actually the one keeping you whole.
Art has a way of reflecting our deepest truths back at us, these purple hydrangeas painted in layers in watercolours aren't just about colours from the lightest to the deepest but layers of strength we often miss in the people we love. For years, we thought our nonverbal son on the spectrum needed us to shield him from the world. But during our hardest days in the hospital, he became our anchor—carrying bags, wheeling his dad in the hospital corridors when he was facing issues with his leg , and waiting with a patient grace outside the scanning rooms with me now .. left me breathless overwhelmed and so proud of him. These paintings are a tribute to his quiet dignity, his unspoken understanding, and the beautiful way he cares for us.
