Maybe this year wasn’t about playing more.
Maybe it was about finding more of myself.
This year, I took up fewer shows than I did the year before.
And honestly, that gave me the space to pause, listen, experiment and ask myself a very important question:
What is the music I really want to play?
Somewhere along the way, I realised I didn’t want to simply play music anymore.
I wanted to create a world around it.
I wanted sounds that feel ancient.
Rhythms that make you close your eyes.
Percussion that you can feel in your body.
Music that takes you somewhere — somewhere wild, tribal, emotional and deeply connected.
And so, I decided to follow that feeling.
I’m creating a band with three incredibly talented musicians. We’re experimenting, practising, discovering sounds, working on costumes, building the visual world and slowly putting all the pieces together.
It’s still very much a work in progress.
There are days when I question everything.
And there are days when I hear something we’ve created and think…
YES. This is exactly where I want to be.
My sound may not be for everyone — and I’ve made peace with that.
Because when I play music that truly feels like me, I can give it everything I have.
My energy.
My imagination.
My emotions.
My heart.
I’m learning that sometimes you have to step away from what is familiar to discover what is truly yours.
So this is not just a new sound.
It’s a new chapter for me.
And I’m taking my time with it.
I’m still discovering it.
I’m still building it.
I’m still dreaming it.
But I’m so excited for the day I can finally share this beautiful musical world with you.
Thank you to everyone who has stayed with me through every chapter of this journey.
This one is very close to my heart. ❤️
Something new is taking shape…
