Somewhere above the chaos of MG Marg, past the flat green stretch where locals go for their evening walk, there’s a door that opens into another world 🌸

Step through it and the mountain air changes — climate-controlled, hushed, humid in the way only a greenhouse can be. Inside: thousands of orchids, some native to these Himalayan slopes, some flown in from corners of the world I’ll probably never visit. Roughly 7 in 10 blooms you see are real, living things. The rest are botanical models so detailed you’ll double-take.

There’s a hall that feels like walking into a fairytale — orchids cascading from the ceiling, colour in every direction — and a quieter museum section where you actually learn what makes these flowers so obsessively collected: their biology, their conservation story, why Sikkim guards them like treasure.

Entry is simple now — scan a QR code, walk through an automated gate, and you’re in. Give yourself an hour, maybe two if you’re the kind of person who reads every placard (I am).

Opened just months ago as part of the state’s big anniversary celebrations, this might just be the most underrated new spot in the city right now.

Bonus: Kanchenjunga watching over the whole thing when the skies are clear ⛰️

Just drifting through July—always a special month for the mountains!
If you’re planning a trip to the breathtaking Yumthang Valley, here is the route breakdown:
Getting There: Fly into Bagdogra or take a train to NJP.
The Journey: A 4–5 hour drive brings you to Gangtok, followed by another 4–5 hours to Lachung, and roughly 2 hours more to Yumthang Valley.
Pro Tip: Beyond a certain point, local transport takes over. Be cautious when booking—many advertise “luxury” stays but turn out to be quite average, so do your research beforehand!
And while in Gangtok, don’t miss out on grabbing a warm cup of coffee at Local Cafe near Vajra Stand—it’s an absolute gem. ✨

Guess il be posting more now. I’ve been so so caught up . Caught up making things for others , Honestly love it but it somehow took me away from documenting how I used to and even interact as a matter of fact. It was my birthday a few days ago , it was pretty chill , quite different from what I planned but still a very very nice one. Ended up creating an artwork at the highest point I’ve been to 12,000 ft will go higher this year inshallah. Mountains are a beautiful space to introspect to learn and to admire. This is me in yumthang valley Sikkim smiling amongst cows and mountains and rain and a very beautiful Testa river flowing by. I’m trying to get back to creating videos hopefully would come out with a newer version of my visions soon. 🌻

Respect isn’t either.

We were told to respect our elders
before we were taught to respect ourselves.

But a title doesn’t earn you softness.
Years don’t earn you grace.
Seniority doesn’t earn you someone’s silence.

Respect is earned
the same way trust is —
slowly, through how you show up
for people who can do nothing for you.

The mountain doesn’t bow to the oldest peak.
It just stands.
Equally.

Earn your place
in how you treat people.
Not in how long you’ve been here.
