and U.S. After traveling to London in August 1997, Ustad Nusrat
Fateh Ali Khan was rushed from the airport to Cromwell Hospital
in London and he passed away due a sudden cardiac arrest on
16th August 1997. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was just 48 years old,
his death sparked a nationwide state of mourning in Pakistan and
a hole in sufi fusion music that has yet to be filled by anyone who
could even come close to his range and sheer talent. Ustad
Nusrat was one of the most diverse singers of Pakistan and his
legacy has changed the idea of what it means to be a devotional
singer of sufi kalams.
