I was craving for Malpua and Kheer today and when you miss your city for its cuisines and you have no other option except cooking it by yourself.
After seeing the posts by about Malpuras from I just lost my patience and had to cook today. They turned out to be yummy but will definitely try to have them once from your place.

Sometimes you don’t love the places for their food but for their ambiance. The feel you get inside while entering the place is soul refreshing, and you just want to sit their for some time. I just love such cafés.

This is not just ‘चाय’ for me, there are emotions and the memories behind this cup of tea. I used to wake up early in the morning especially for having ‘Giani ki kachori and Chai’ with my friends. I’m not at all a morning person but for these chai kachori meets I could wake up. We used to plan to do cycling 🚴‍♀️ in the city and had to end up at Giani Tea Stall consuming all the calories after burning a few😅. Those were the golden days of my life before marriage and I miss them a lot.

I have listened various names of this dish, some people call it pateed, some call parose as it is made from arbi k patte by applying besan ka paste on them and steaming afterwards. This is Himachal ki recipe as far as I know , if anyone else know any other names of this recipe or it’s origin do let me know in the comments!

Aunty ji ke famous Rajma & Kadhi Chawal in Mohali Phase-7 was the most eaten dish while I used to live in Mohali. So when you live far from your parents you miss that ‘घर का खाना’ and this was the only सहारा at that time. She serves with so much of love, you can ask for more rajma, chutney, onions in your same place she would never refuse or ask for extra money.

Being a punjabi if you don’t have ‘Poori Chole’ once a week, there’s no fun of being a punjabi then😅. As we people are identified from our desi punjabi cuisines. My mother in law is a great cook and she has that routine of asking me in the night that ‘Subah kya khana hai’ and I never have the answer and in the morning I get these yummy foodstuffs to have as a surprise 🥳.
