Supporting the Demand for Chenab Valley's Divisional Status! 🏔️📢

We strongly support Ramban MLA Arjun Singh Raju's recent demand in the J&K Assembly for granting a separate Divisional status to the Chenab Valley. This is not just an administrative request; it is an absolute necessity for the progress of our region. Here is why:
Tough Geographical Terrain: The Chenab Valley is a highly mountainous and rugged region. Governing such a vast, hilly landscape from a distant headquarters makes administration difficult and out of touch with local realities.
Inequitable Fund Allocation: For years, our districts have faced systemic neglect. Funds meant for critical development are often not properly allocated or utilized to their full potential in our specific terrain.
Weak Governance Structure: Because of the distance from main administrative hubs, local governance and project ex*****on remain weak, leaving us lagging behind in road connectivity, healthcare, and education.
The Solution? We need a special mountainous regions development approach. Granting Divisional status will bring administration closer to the people, ensuring better governance, proper accountability, and tailored development plans for our hills.
It is time the Chenab Valley gets the administrative focus it deserves.

کٲشِرِ ثقافتہٕ خٲطرٕ کیازِ چھُ ڈوڈہ ضروری:

ڈوڈہ کۍ قدرتی نظارٕ—لیوینڈر کھیتن ہندِ پوشن پیٹھہٕ واگنۍ کلن تام، تہٕ سانیو پرانو مکانو پیٹھہٕ—چھِ کشمیرِچ عکاسی کران۔ امی کھوتہٕ ضروری چھُ یہِ زِ سانِ ثقافتچ روح، یعنی "کٲشُر زبان"، چھِ یتین زندٕ۔

Ramban District: The Gateway and Stronghold of Kashmiri Culture in the Chenab Valley.

​Ramban is often seen merely as a transit point on the national highway, but it is, in fact, a critical stronghold of the Kashmiri language and identity within the Chenab region. Covering an area of approximately 1,329 km², this district serves as the bridge between the Valley of Kashmir and the rest of the region, preserving a rich linguistic heritage.
Contrary to common perception, a significant portion of Ramban’s population speaks pure, authentic Kashmiri (Kaeshir), distinct from local dialects like Poguli or Sirazi.

5 Ways to Save Our Kashmiri Language in Chenab Valley 🍁

Our mother tongue is our identity. Here is how we can work together to preserve Kashmiri culture and language in the Chenab region:
1. Kashmiri in Schools (NEP 2020) 📚
We must demand that schools introduce Kashmiri as a subject for our children. We need teachers who speak our local Chenab variety of Kashmiri fluently, so the next generation learns it correctly.
2. Speak with Pride (Not Shame) 🗣️
Let’s stop thinking our local Kashmiri is "incorrect." It is a historical and rich form of the language. Speak it proudly in markets, offices, and gatherings without feeling inferior to Urdu or English speakers.
3. Use Social Media 📱
The youth are on phones all day. Let's use Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to make reels, news, and comedy in our own language. Making our language "cool" online will help save it offline.
4. Save Our Folk Traditions
Our work songs and wedding songs (Wanwun) are disappearing. Record your elders singing these songs and share them. If we don't record them now, they will be lost forever.
5. The "Home Rule" 🏠
This is the most important point. Speak Kashmiri to your children at home. If kids only speak Urdu/Hindi at home, the language will end with us.
Let us promise to keep our mother tongue and Culture alive ❤️
