Exciting News for Our Community!

Though we haven't been active on our page post COVID. Here comes exciting news!! Despite the challenges we've faced during COVID and the ongoing struggles in Manipur, we are thrilled to share a monumental achievement: Recognition of Andro as the Best Heritage Village by the Ministry of Tourism! This honor not only brings a sense of pride but also opens new doors for our community.

This recognition highlights the importance of preserving our rich traditions and culture amidst the winds of change. It is a testament to our resilience and the beauty of our heritage. Together, we can embrace this opportunity to showcase Andro's unique identity and foster sustainable tourism that benefits everyone.

Let’s celebrate this achievement and work hand in hand to elevate our community while honoring our roots. Join us on this journey to promote Andro as a must-visit destination and ensure our traditions thrive for generations to come!

Here's wishing a very Happy New Year to all our friends, fans and followers. And apologies once again for this is the second year in a row we have been late in wishing you all. However, we do have some great news for all of you this time around. Last year has been hard for everyone... For us it was no different and the new year therefore called for a strong resolution. We resolved to open Andro again this year. The first 2 weeks of the year have therefore been full of hectic activity and a lot of positive energy for us. Here are some of the glimpses... Keep watching... We are going to be open and operational soon... Cheers and best wishes to everyone. Once again a very happy new year to all!!

English – Bengle Sage/Vietnamese balm
Essential oil – Meriandra oil

Health benefits and medicinal usages

👉Eating fresh leaves/shoots/flowers - Control blood pressure
👉Decoction (boiling) – Gargle for throat infection and tonsillitis
👉Eat leaf decoction, fresh shoots, and leaf for cough
👉Crush the leaf and apply on cuts and wounds (acts as an antiseptic)

Re-discovering, reintroducing, and reviving the forgotten Ancient rope! We’ve used Ayanglee (local name), a forest vine, which is more durable and flexible than cane, as lashing material/rope. Traditional techniques of lashing are rapidly disappearing. Today it is called survival knots. Let’s revisit and re-discover our traditional practices!!

When a beautiful guest sneaks in!!! History witnessed to ancient cultures using colorful beetles (wings) of various shapes and sizes as an ornament or as an adornment to paintings and textiles but don’t jump to any conclusion of killing these beautiful creatures and flaunt as a prized collectible. Here is what you can do 👉 The beetles have a short life span of 3 to 4 weeks in their adult stage. To avoid killing the beetles, you can collect only those that die of natural causes.
