Last week we had the chance to be part of the Goa Open Arts Festival (Feb 20–25) and it was such a beautiful experience.
We set up two screening booths where visitors could watch films created by our students. It was amazing to see so many people stopping by, sitting down and taking the time to watch their stories.
In the middle of the space we also had a live illustrator drawing portraits of visitors, while people could leave thoughts and feedback on small cards.
Another part of our booth was the “Make Your Own Story” wall. Every day a new story started, and visitors could add one sentence to continue it. By the end of each day it had turned into a unique little story created by many different people.
On the other side we created an Interview Corner, where we spoke with visitors about storytelling, creativity and art. Over the festival we recorded 22 interviews, which will later become part of a documentary.
A huge thank you to everyone who visited us, watched the films, registered, shared their thoughts, contributed to the story wall or sat down with us for an interview. Your curiosity, ideas and conversations meant a lot to us.
And of course a special thank you to our wonderful illustrator for bringing so many portraits to life during the festival.
Most importantly, thank you for supporting the stories created by our students. Seeing people connect with their films is always something really special for us.
