Last week we had the chance to be part of the Goa Open Arts Festival (Feb 20–25) and it was such a beautiful experience.

We set up two screening booths where visitors could watch films created by our students. It was amazing to see so many people stopping by, sitting down and taking the time to watch their stories.

In the middle of the space we also had a live illustrator drawing portraits of visitors, while people could leave thoughts and feedback on small cards.

Another part of our booth was the “Make Your Own Story” wall. Every day a new story started, and visitors could add one sentence to continue it. By the end of each day it had turned into a unique little story created by many different people.

On the other side we created an Interview Corner, where we spoke with visitors about storytelling, creativity and art. Over the festival we recorded 22 interviews, which will later become part of a documentary.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us, watched the films, registered, shared their thoughts, contributed to the story wall or sat down with us for an interview. Your curiosity, ideas and conversations meant a lot to us.

And of course a special thank you to our wonderful illustrator for bringing so many portraits to life during the festival.

Most importantly, thank you for supporting the stories created by our students. Seeing people connect with their films is always something really special for us.

This is our space at Goa Open Arts 🤍

Over the past days, we’ve been sharing what we do at Lighthouse – working with young people through film and storytelling. For us, it’s not just about cameras or editing. It’s about creating a safe space where teenagers can express themselves, speak about their realities, and turn their ideas into something visible.

Our presence here is mainly a showcase of the work created in our filmmaking program. The films you can see at our stand were written, directed and produced by our students. Each project carries their perspective, their voice and their story.

At our space, you can watch the films, explore behind-the-scenes moments, and learn how storytelling can create real social impact.

If you’re around, come by. Ask questions. Sit with us and be part of the conversation.

Almost Over

We’re close to the end now.
Most of the stories are out, and the series is coming together as a whole.

This moment isn’t about conclusions yet.
It’s simply marking where we are, just before the final release.

One more to come.

Blooming Spoiler

Things are settling into place.
The work feels more focused now, and the stories start to speak for themselves.

This moment isn’t about introducing anything new.
It’s about letting what’s already there unfold.

We’re moving closer to the end.

This is the beginning of the last chapter.
Not in a big or dramatic way — just quietly noticing that we’re getting close to the end.

A lot has already been shared.
Different moods, different voices, different moments.
Some lighter, some heavier.

This part feels a bit slower.
More reflective.
Maybe a little heavier than before.

It’s not about wrapping things up yet.
It’s about sitting with what’s there and letting the stories land.

The last chapter has started.

Midpoint Spoiler

This is a moment where things start to feel real.
Not as an idea, not as a plan but as something that is actually happening.

The stories you’ll see are made from real thoughts, small details, and experiences that are often left unspoken.
They don’t try to explain everything.
They simply exist as they are.

Each film carries its own mood, its own voice, its own way of looking at the world.

This is one part of a bigger picture.
More is on the way.

This week continues our series of short film releases.
Each film brings its own perspective, shaped by personal experiences, ideas and the world the young filmmakers move through.

Created as part of our filmmaking program, these stories grow out of everyday moments — small questions, emotions and situations that matter to their makers.
They are not polished to perfection.
They are honest, thoughtful and deeply personal.

Film becomes a space to explore, to try, to reflect.
A space where young voices can take form, be seen, and be heard — without having to be loud.

And this is only one part of what’s unfolding here.
More stories are on the way, each carrying its own rhythm and point of view.

We’re looking forward to sharing what comes next with you.

First spoiler for this week 👀

This week marks the beginning of a new series of short film releases.
Four films will be shared, across two days – Tuesday and Friday.

These stories were developed through our filmmaking program, where young people use film as a way to express themselves, explore their ideas and tell stories that matter to them.

Behind every film is a process full of learning, creativity, doubts, growth and teamwork.

This is just the start.
Many more stories are coming in the weeks ahead, and we can’t wait to share them with you 🎬
