mujhe apna banaya hai kisi ne
mujhe jeena sikhaaya hai kisi ne

sitaaron men miraa hi naam likh ke
mujhe qismat bataaya hai kisi ne

mire lafzon men jaadu bhar gaya hai
mujhe likhna sikhaaya hai kisi ne

main un saariq-garon se poochta hooñ
ki miraa dil churaaya hai kisi ne

mirii tanhaaiyon men raushni hai
charaagh-e-dil jalaya hai kisi ne

na jaane kis dua ka tha asar vo
mujhe apna banaya hai kisi ne
