Art in any form is and always will be the highest form of expression – This series redefines it. Instead of approaching art history as just a series of key dates and names to remember, this exhibition aims towards building an understanding of the progression of styles in Indian art. Beginning with Indian art at the turn of the 20th century and ending with a broad overview of Indian art in the cont
emporary times and possible future directions, the exhibition will trace the evolution of Indian art's major periods and styles by a close consideration of works by some of the India's renowned artists, while mapping its course on the political history of the country, as well within the global art scenario. Participants will emerge with a greater understanding of the arc of Indian art, an in-depth understanding of some of the greatest works by Indian artists, and a critical eye for contemporary art. Arts in India represent life in Indian subcontinent which is primarily influenced by traditions, religion and philosophy. Hence, Indian art can be defined as theological, hieratic and even traditional. Indian art of all periods is close to life, not only to the life of the gods but to all creatures on earth. Besides this, naturalism is predominantly witnessed in Indian art. “Elegancy of Colors” will brings all this in one room with the help of his exhibitions.
