Watching the Michael movie last week brought back a flood of childhood memories — the days when all of us friends would gather together, completely lost in the magic of Michael Jackson’s music. Back then, we only saw the spectacle: the moonwalk, the fame, the energy, the legend. But after the film, I wanted to know more about the man behind the phenomenon.
As I went through interviews, articles, and old videos, I realized something heartbreaking — Michael Jackson’s life was both deeply blessed and painfully cursed.
He achieved what most people can only dream of: unimaginable fame, love from millions, global recognition, immortality through music. Yet somehow, none of it seemed enough to protect him from suffering. The Pepsi fire accident that changed his life forever and reportedly led to years of dependency on painkillers, the endless surgeries tied to his skin condition and public scrutiny, the false allegations that haunted him for years, broken relationships, loneliness, emotional exhaustion.
What struck me most is the contradictions- the louder the world screamed his name, the lonelier he seemed to become.. Michael Jackson had everything in world one can desire for, yet he longed for peace, acceptance and genuine love. Maybe that's why his story stay with us. Besides being the greatest entertainer of all times, there was this human soul who was fragile, wounded and misunderstood!!
My tribute to this legend through this sketch!!
