Delhi Through the Ages: Heritage Photo Walk Report

The Photography Vertical of UDAAN successfully organized the “Delhi Through the Ages” Heritage Photo Walk in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, on 3 September 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 80 students representing 10 colleges of the University of Delhi, bringing together young photographers and heritage enthusiasts for an immersive learning experience.

The walk commenced at Gauri Shankar Mandir, where participants sought blessings before exploring the historic lanes and markets of Old Delhi. The route covered prominent landmarks and marketplaces including Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Fawara Chowk, Dariba Kalan, Camera Market, Nai Sarak, Ballimaran, Khari Baoli, Town Hall, and Fatehpuri Chowk. Along the way, students captured hundreds of photographs documenting the architectural heritage, bustling markets, religious sites, and everyday life of Chandni Chowk.

The experience was enriched by a food break featuring some of Chandni Chowk’s famous delicacies, making the walk a delightful blend of photography, culture, and culinary exploration. Many participants shared that the walk changed their perception of Chandni Chowk, helping them appreciate its deep-rooted Indian cultural and historical significance beyond its Mughal-era associations.

National Award-winner Kamleesh A Mishra 's film Kakori was screened at Indraprastha College for Women by the Film Vertical of UDAAN.
The event featured a highly insightful interactive session with director Shri Kamlesh Mishra ji and was held under the guidance of mentor Shri Uttam Prakash ji. Film producer Sardar Jaswinder Singh ji was also graced the session.
The initiative received key support from UDAAN President Shri Anupam Bhatnagar ji, Coordinator Dr. Shruti Mishra ji, and Indraprastha College for Women's Principal Dr. Poonam ji. The event was successfully executed by UDAAN's Film Vertical team members.
Building on this success, a hands-on production-based workshop will be organized at the college soon.

गहरे दुःख, वेदना और आक्रोश के साथ- उड़ान परिवार

डॉ. देबोस्मिता पॉल हमारे लिए केवल एक उत्कृष्ट शिक्षाविद् नहीं थीं, बल्कि उड़ान परिवार की सबसे सशक्त आधारशिलाओं में से एक थीं। उनकी गरिमा, संवेदनशीलता, कर्मनिष्ठा और संगठन के प्रति अटूट समर्पण हम सभी के लिए प्रेरणा का स्रोत था।

उड़ान के उद्देश्यों और संगठन की भावना को आगे बढ़ाने में उनका योगदान अमूल्य रहा। उन्होंने सैकड़ों विद्यार्थियों और शिक्षकों को प्रेरित किया तथा संगठन के कार्यों को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए सदैव पूरे मनोयोग से कार्य किया। समाज और राष्ट्र के प्रति उनकी प्रतिबद्धता असाधारण थी। उनके व्यक्तित्व में स्नेह, प्रतिभा और समर्पण का ऐसा अद्भुत संगम था, जो विरले ही देखने को मिलता है।

उनके साथ जो हुआ, वह केवल एक दुखद घटना नहीं, बल्कि हमारी संवेदनाओं को झकझोर देने वाला एक असहनीय आघात है। इतनी गरिमामयी, प्रतिभाशाली और समर्पित महिला के साथ हुई यह निर्मम घटना हृदय विदारक है। उनके असमय चले जाने से जो शून्य उत्पन्न हुआ है, उसकी भरपाई संभव नहीं है।

उनकी क्षमता और उनका दृष्टिकोण जितना व्यापक था, हमें विश्वास है कि यदि उन्हें और समय मिलता, तो वे समाज और राष्ट्र के लिए अनेक महत्वपूर्ण योगदान देतीं। उनका जाना उड़ान परिवार के प्रत्येक सदस्य की व्यक्तिगत क्षति है।

इस पीड़ादायक समय में हम उनके परिवार, मित्रों, सहकर्मियों और सभी शुभचिंतकों के प्रति अपनी गहरी संवेदनाएँ व्यक्त करते हैं। साथ ही, हम डॉ. देबोस्मिता पॉल के लिए शीघ्र, निष्पक्ष और कठोर न्याय की माँग करते हैं। उनकी स्मृति को मौन में नहीं, बल्कि न्याय के लिए एकजुट होकर उठाई गई सामूहिक आवाज़ में सम्मान मिलना चाहिए।

डॉ. देबोस्मिता पॉल की स्मृतियाँ, उनके आदर्श, उनका समर्पण और उनका कार्य सदैव हमारे हृदयों में जीवित रहेंगे।

कल उड़ान परिवार ने अत्यंत भारी मन से अपनी प्रिय साथी, डॉ. देबोस्मिता पॉल को अंतिम विदाई दी। वह केवल उड़ान की एक सदस्य नहीं थीं, बल्कि उसकी सबसे मजबूत आधारशिलाओं में से एक थीं।

उनकी अंतिम यात्रा का साक्षी बनना हम सभी के लिए अत्यंत पीड़ादायक क्षण था। इस अपूरणीय क्षति को शब्दों में व्यक्त करना संभव नहीं है। हम ईश्वर से प्रार्थना करते हैं कि उनकी पुण्यात्मा को शांति प्रदान करें तथा उनके परिवार को इस असहनीय दुःख को सहने की शक्ति दें।

उड़ान परिवार यह संकल्प दोहराता है कि डॉ. देबोस्मिता पॉल को न्याय दिलाने के लिए हर सम्भव प्रयास किया जाएगा। जब तक दोषियों को उनके कृत्य के अनुरूप कठोर दंड नहीं मिलता, हमारी आवाज़ न्याय की माँग के साथ उठती रहेगी।

डॉ. देबोस्मिता पॉल जिस सम्मान, गरिमा और आदर की अधिकारी थीं, वह सम्मान सदैव उनके नाम के साथ जुड़ा रहेगा। उनके आदर्श, उनका कार्य और उनकी स्मृतियाँ हम सभी को निरंतर प्रेरित करती रहेंगी।

📸✨ Capturing stories through the lens!

UDAAN, in collaboration with The Photography & Filmmaking Society CLIXOR, Sri Aurobindo College (Evening), under the aegis of IQAC, successfully organized a Photography Workshop on *“The Art and Techniques of Storytelling in Photography”* on 23 April 2026 at the Seminar Hall. Nearly 40 enthusiastic students participated, making it a vibrant and interactive session.

🎥 Resource person Mr. Deepak Jain, cinematographer and filmmaker, shared valuable insights on composition, lighting, and the power of ideas in creating meaningful visual narratives.

📷 Dr. Gagan Gera, Assistant Professor and Head of the Photography Vertical, UDAAN, enriched the workshop with technical guidance on exposure and the creative thought process behind framing the perfect shot.
