The vast cultural and ethnic diversity of India has made it home to a variety of motifs, techniques, and crafts. Born of centuries-old craftsmanship, the history of varied designs and motifs has fascinated the people all over the world.
Shoaib, a student of Jamia Millia Islamia is no different. He is an art-lover who loves to diversify and experiment with the age-old artforms. He has given a whole new meaning to the traditional forms of art and calligraphy by practicing it on the surface of dry leaves.
His journey started with making drawings and paintings during school days. He started making cut-out designs on dry fallen leaves. It’s been more than three years since he has been making such amazing art pieces. Every detailed piece takes hours to complete as a slight slip of the hand could rip the surface and destroy hours of work. He is currently selling his artwork on a part-time basis and is planning to shift to full-time soon.
Project Kitabat shares the aim of contemporizing the art of calligraphy and lauds Shoaib for his remarkable artwork.
