Concept Note: Mahakapi Jataka

This artwork is a symbolic interpretation of the Mahakapi Jataka, reflecting themes of sacrifice, unity, and enlightenment. The central circular form represents the cycle of life, containing dynamic monkey figures that narrate the struggle and survival of the Mahakapi and his community. Triangular patterns suggest conflict and the attack by the king’s soldiers, while mango shapes highlight the key element driving the story.

At the base, the transition from a monkey form to a meditative Buddha symbolizes spiritual evolution.
