We believe that the word Heritagewale represents us all because every one has associations with various forms of heritage in infinite ways. Heritage is not limited to monuments or old buildings as commonly perceived. Smita Babar is an urban conservationist and architect with over seven years of experience. She continues to create awareness on heritage with Heritagewale and her role associated with INTACH Heritage Academy. Through travelling she enjoys photo-documenting people in the context of heritage. She is a trained Odissi dancer and Hindustani vocalist which makes her compassionate towards intangible cultural heritage.

Did you know that the Venetian artist Vittore Carpaccio was a master of capturing the exotic allure of the Near East? In his painting, 'The Visitation,' he uses Oriental rugs to transport us to a far-off land.

It is a captivating Renaissance painting that depicts a scene from the New Testament. In this work, the Virgin Mary, pregnant with Jesus, visits her cousin Elizabeth, who is also pregnant with John the Baptist.

The figures are depicted with great care, and their expressions convey a sense of emotion and reverence.
