A fun activity from our sponsors to make this quarantine enjoyable!

"A secret to happiness is letting every situation be what it is instead of what you think it should be and then making the best of it."
In these extraordinary circumstances, with most of us confined to our homes, we have found our own ways to make the best use of our time. Some have found unexpected joys in spending real quality time with our families. Others have taken up new creative pursuits.
For those who haven't tried colouring pages yet, people have found them to be meditative, almost a form of art therapy.
Sarangi presents colouring pages. These are illustrations from our archives of drawings and sketches of saree motifs. Download the PDF file from the link (in the bio), print it out on A4 sheets and colour away!

Medical Daily shared an article in which Dr. Stan Rodski, a neuropsychologist, says that "coloring elicits a relaxing mindset, similar to what you would achieve through meditation.” He further mentions that “like meditation, coloring allows us to switch off our brains from other thoughts and focus on the moment. Tasks with predictable results, such as coloring or knitting, can often be calming.”
Let us know how it goes.
Who knows, we may end up discovering a textile designer amongst ourselves! :)

Margazhi presents 'Meet the Artist'. This month we are happy to host musician and food raconteur - Rakesh Raghunathan in conversation with Aarabi Veeraraghavan.

Rakesh Raghunathan known as the ‘singing chef’, brings together the South Indian culture in flavourful ways. He is a trained classical vocalist and a collaborative performer. He combines his love for food and music in all his thematic cookery workshops which adds a unique dimension to his presentation on food.

He has a deep and abiding interest in food history and practices, and its interaction with socio-cultural norms. A passionate food traveller, he has documented recipes and stories surrounding local food and culinary practices from across South India. These stories are presented in a TV show ‘Dakshin Diaries’ on Zee Entertainment’s Living Foodz channel. The show’s unique format and seminal content sees him tie in food into the larger social and cultural landscape as he spends time engaging with communities, and observing the manner in which they grow food, cook, eat, and live.

We'd love for you to join us coffee, breakfast and a chat with the artiste.
