Octavia is an inter-collegiate acoustics and electrics competition annually hosted by the Bishop Heber Hall, ever since its institution in 1981 Octavia has been the benchmark for all events focused in and around Chennai in the world of music. Octavia has been a platform of fillip for numerous young bands and has also featured the best bands such as in the country in its rock showdown which curtail

s the event. Participation in Octavia has become a matter of pride and prestige for most bands, mainly attributed to the very appealing prize money that the event carries, with over 20 - 25 bands turning up to try their luck at walking away with the title of Octavia's best band, best vocalist and best instrumentalist. Heberians, known even then for their talent with the six-string, are much the same. Scruffy clothes; scruffier hair. Bring out those dusty guitars and get your act together!

As we all know contribution towards the society with an art is always the best...We (the residents of Bishop Heber Hall) contribute by supporting the music that our society needs. Octavia promotes rock music, and also the people for it by providing a platform for budding rock bands in the country to showcase their potential to contribute to the society by rocking.
As usual, we are beyond happy to announce that we'll be hosting the battle of bands in the morning. So,now it's your turn to showcase your skills and talents in this amazing platform...And our regards to all the bands which made it to the final round of Octavia'18

Agam is a Bangalore-based contemporary Carnatic progressive rock band. The band was formed in the year 2003. The current lineup consists of Harish Sivaramakrishnan (vocals and violin), Ganesh Ram Nagarajan (drums and backing vocals), Swamy Seetharaman (keyboards and lyricist), T Praveen Kumar (lead guitar), Aditya Kasyap (bass guitar and backing vocals), Sivakumar Nagarajan (ethnic percussions), Jagadish Natarajan (rhythm guitar) and Yadhunandan (Drummer).
