ताप्ती नदी दक्षिण भारत की प्रमुख नदियों में से एक है यह सतपुड़ा के घने जंगलों के मध्य बहती है ।ये भारत की प्राचीन नदियों में से एक है इस पर बांध बना के बैतूल होशंगाबाद जिले को समृद्धि प्रदान की है इसकी प्राकृतिक सुंदरता देखते ही बनती है सभ्यता और संस्कृति नदियों के किनारे पर ही पल्लवित होती है ।
