माता लक्ष्मी धन और समृद्धि की देवी हैं।
Goddess Lakshmi is one of the most important deities in Hinduism, known as the goddess of wealth, prosperity, fortune, and beauty. She is the divine consort of Vishnu and is believed to bring happiness, success, and good luck to her devotees.
She is usually depicted as a beautiful woman with a golden complexion, sitting or standing on a lotus flower, which symbolizes purity and spiritual growth. Goddess Lakshmi has four hands, each representing different aspects of life:
One hand gives blessings (varada mudra)
One hand showers gold coins, symbolizing wealth
The other two hands hold lotus flowers
The lotus represents purity and enlightenment, while the flowing gold coins indicate endless prosperity. Often, elephants are shown beside her, symbolizing power, strength, and royal dignity.
Goddess Lakshmi is especially worshipped during the festival of Diwali. On this occasion, people clean and decorate their homes, light lamps, and pray to welcome her blessings for wealth and happiness.
She blesses her devotees with prosperity, success, peace, and good fortune, making her one of the most loved and worshipped goddesses in Hindu culture.

Jammu & Kashmir’s armless archer and Paralympics medallist Sheetal Devi triumphed over Odisha’s quadruple amputee Payal Nag to win gold in a thrilling showdown at the Khelo India Para Games on Sunday.
In a nail-biting clash of teenage talent, defending champion Sheetal came from behind to secure her second gold of the Games at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
The 18-year-old edged out 17-year-old Payal 109-103 in the compound archery open final. Payal, who lost all four limbs due to electrocution as a child, competes with prosthetic legs—and yet, nothing could stop her from giving her best.
Other highlights included 40-year-old Rakesh Kumar and 30-year-old Jyoti Baliyan shining in their events, while Jharkhand’s Vijay Sundi defeated Haryana’s Vikas in the men’s open gold match. Jyoti Baliyan bagged the women’s recurve gold.
In the women’s compound final, Payal initially led, but Sheetal regained her focus with consistent 9s and 10s, clinching the decisive fifth round to win gold.
Sheetal praised her rival:
"Payal played exceptionally well. With her dedication, she will definitely bring a medal for India soon. I am personally grateful for all the blessings that helped me win at the Khelo India Para Games."
Soft-spoken Payal said:
"Earlier, I used two devices to shoot arrows, but now I shoot with just one leg. Adjusting was tough, and the windy conditions made it harder—but I’m proud to have reached the final."
Coach Kuldeep Vedwan added that Payal recently received a new device, boosting her potential for future competitions.
