RAPIDO EXPERIENCE: A FLIGHT MISSED BY JUST 5 MINUTES
My friends came to Bengaluru to meet me. They had planned to return to Calicut by flight — and it was going to be their first-ever flight experience.
Unfortunately, what should have been a memorable first flight became a completely different memory.
Just 5 minutes before we reached the airport, this happened:
I booked a Rapido car to the airport. When the driver arrived, he demanded extra money, saying that the amount shown to him was different from the amount shown on my app.
I clearly told him that we didn't have time to argue and requested him to take us to the airport. I also told him that we would pay the amount at the end of the ride.
Instead, the driver refused to accept the ride OTP/pickup code and stopped the vehicle.
After the discussion, he eventually started driving. But by then, valuable time had already been lost.
When my friends reached the airport, they were just 5 minutes late — and they were not allowed to board the flight.
They missed their first-ever flight.
Since I had booked the ride, I contacted Rapido from my end and explained what had happened. Rapido refunded the â‚ą185 fare to my wallet.
Within minutes, my friend called me and told me that they had missed the flight and that the discussion with the driver had contributed to the delay.
I want to make one thing clear:
I am not blaming Rapido entirely for the missed flight (you are responsible but). However, the delay during the ride, the driver's demand for extra money, and the refusal to proceed immediately are serious concerns.
What concerned me further was The way the matter was communicated felt intimidating to me, and it made me question how such complaints are being handled.
But the story didn't end there.
ANOTHER RAPIDO RIDE. THE SAME ISSUE.
Later, I booked another Rapido ride to drop my friends back home.
What about thetheir flight??? The amount????
