A breathtaking handcrafted brass masterpiece capturing Goddess Saraswathi in a graceful dancing tribhanga-inspired pose — her weight shifted gently onto one foot, the other lightly raised, body curved in the fluid rhythm of classical temple dance. In her hands she holds her veena, fingers delicately poised as though mid-melody, while her serene, downcast gaze and gentle smile evoke deep tranquility and grace. She is adorned in finely detailed jewellery, a layered crown, and flowing draped garments that ripple with lifelike movement across her form.
Enclosing her is a spectacular prabha — an ornate aureole arch bursting with symmetrical scrollwork, leaf-like flourishes, and curling vines, crowned at its peak by a fierce yet protective Kirtimukha face, a guardian motif rooted in South Indian temple architecture. At the base, a peacock — her sacred vahana — rests with wings folded, adding a touch of living grace to the composition. The entire piece sits upon a multi-tiered lotus pedestal, richly detailed with floral banding.
Every curve, fold, and filigree reflects the enduring artistry of Chola-inspired lost-wax brass casting, finished by hand in a warm antique patina that lends the piece an heirloom quality — as though it has stood in devotion for generations.
