Lavine had with a wrist fracture from a car mishap, yet endeavoured to play the double bass at the Sangat Festival during the same weekend. Lavine DaCosta with his 1st Double bass teacher Lynda Houghton and his proud parents Mr. Francis DaCosta and Mrs. Yvonne DaCosta.

'Forever To Be Yours' is a song composed & arranged by Lavine Da Costa
and lyrics by Melissa Da Costa. This song was sung by Melissa and Lavine DaCosta for their Nuptials with the same musicians who recorded this song in the studios. The recorded version was also used as their first waltz at the reception.

Clifton Rodricks on the keyboards, Ashley Quiney on the guitar, Ashton Colaço on the sax, Sheldon on the bass guitar, Strings were played by Mario Fernandes, Olga Lyapina, Assel Atageldieva, Yuka Honda, Francis Mendes , and Dastan. Comments : Lavine has not only conducted the string section but also played the Cello and Double bass in this song. This song is very challenging as it has many technical passages and its easier to get this sound , electronically on the keyboard. However, Lavine excelled in achieving noteworthy intonation and the phrasing in this song !

The "Sound of Music" play was a fund-raiser to help complete the construction of the next phase of ‘St. Thomas Academy’ School in Goregoan, Mumbai in January, 2014. Held on the church grounds, the play was enacted with Lavine DaCosta’s Ensemble featuring two 1st Violins, a second violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, flute, saxophone and an accompanying keyboard.(Octet) This is the first time a play was enacted with live music and singing, upgrading the standard of school theatre to that of a Broadway musical. The background score was arranged, transcribed and conducted by Lavine DaCosta. Bishop Bosco Penha compared the quality of the music delivered by the musicians to that of an experience in Vienna. The musical was house full on both the days of screening the play.
Featuring in the Octet was also Lavine's father, Francis DaCosta, Sanjeev Rao, Sandeep Thakur, Errol Monserrate, P S Ramachandran, Andrew Ferrao and Ashton Colaco.
