Apples and honey (and pomegranates) for Rosh Hashana. Each of these pieces was lovingly hand made by me, only one of each. Each one was hand painted. Not printed, not mass produced, not slip cast, hand crafted and created (with my fingerprints). This is slow living at its best

It’s funny 👆, my sisters’ Beverley and Jacqui both have green thumbs they can grow literally anything from a cutting (slip). Me, I have the black thumbs in the family 😂, BUT, succulents, I can propagate (with about a 70% success rate) and they bring me joy. We live in Gush Etzion which is a cherry 🍒 growing region (COLD winters). My hubby & kids love Jam ריבת דובדבנים 🍒 Win 🏅 win. Now stop, take a deep breath in through your nose 👃 and out through your mouth. Repeat. Have a beautiful day.

Last month, I flew to Cape Town 🇿🇦 to visit my Mom, my Sister and my Dad z”l. Deep inside I expected my Dad to be there when I landed, hugging me tightly, his lambs wool sweater rough against my cheek. Instead I visited his kever, planted succulents around it and placed stones on the headstone. The ceramic “stones” I made in my 🇮🇱 studio and carried them ✈️ a small cardboard. These are the words that chronicle my Dad’s 91.9 years of living - אבא “Abba” (rhymes with baba) DAD, סבא “Saba” GRANDPA, סבא רבה “Saba Raba” GREAT Grandpa, משפחה “Mishpacha” FAMILU, אהבה “Ahava” LOVE, שפע “Shefa” ABUNDANCE and שלום SHALOM. Two weeks later - the plane landed at Ben Gurion and I said …. ״מודה אני לפניך ״ my heart so full of gratitude to be Home.

Rosh Hashana is 11.9 -13.9 B”H. That’s next week. I like to make a list 📋 and ✅ do things 1️⃣ at a time. I make lots of tiny cinnamon buns & rugelach and freeze them that way I have on hand for dessert or tea till the end of Sukkoth. Dm for recipe. As each day is also a full work day, adding one prep item a day makes it all manageable. Living with balance - Mindfully with intention. Take a minute to breathe in between. And don’t forget to delegate a couple of items 😉. And Breathe. Just breathe!

Thank you Gd for - Waking me up in the morning, being able to take deep breaths,
To Climb out of bed unassisted,
To be able to Stand up on my own two feet,
Giving me voice and capacity to say Modah Ani, Giving me ability to Walk, to
Wash my hands, To have a family of my own, to be able to hug my husband, to hug my children both human and furry, To be aware of all these gifts, to feel
Gratitude, To be Mindful and present. I thank H’ because each one of these gifts are priceless beyond measure!
